When Isla returned to the tree, she was shocked to discover another note.
It was unmarked and written on a scruffy piece of lined paper.
The note appeared informal in comparison to hers which thankfully, still laid in the tree.
The note was a correspondent to her own letter.
The author sympathised with her predicament and encouraged her to stay strong and keep writing.
Isla was in two minds of what she should do; take her letter and run, or write back to her correspondent.
The thought of telling her secrets to the stranger made her want to puke, but it also intrigued her.
Instead of writing another note about her problems, she implored the other person to share a secret of their own.
She knew the exchange would be dangerous, but she decided to take a chance.
