Melanie's POV

I shivered at the thought of Rachel held captive somewhere, awaiting rescue. The police had come about half an hour earlier and had started to question the neighbors. The same story came up again and again: A police officer, about 6-foot, 185lbs had pulled up to Rachel's house in a marked cruiser and appears to have arrested Rachel and Matt under unknown circumstances. Jasmine and Stephanie were later taken out of the house by a second male dressed in a profession manner, driving a black SUV. The officer that responded, Tyler, then told me that no officers on duty were sent to arrest Rachel and Matt. I looked at him, stunned.

"You're telling me someone kidnapped my sister, her friend, her friend's daughter and her own daughter?" Tyler looked at me sympathetically.

"I'm sorry ma'am, but unfortunately, yes. We have officers on the look out for any suspicious cruisers and we will let you know if anything comes up." I nodded. Just then, his radio came to life.

"OFFICER TYLER?"

"This is Tyler responding."

"We have reports of shots being fired at the intersection of Route 28 and Ames Street in Brockton, Massachusetts. Officers from Brockton are on the scene, but they are requesting identification information for Rachel Platten and Matt Hudson."

"I will respond, dispatch." Tyler turns to look at me.

"Ma'am, I expect you heard?" I nod.

"Alright, I need you to come with to identify Rachel and Matt."

"What about Nor?"

"She could stay with a neighbour."

"I'm sorry officer, but I'm not comfortable leaving her here." He sighs.

"Alright, she can come along as well."

"Okay." He leads us to his car and we speed off toward Brockton. When we get there, all I could see is police lights flashing. Tyler gets out of the car and chats with one of the officers at the scene. He motions for me to join them.

Nora's POV

I watch nervously as mom steps out of the car and heads towards the group of officers. They lead her past a barricade and out of my line of sight. As I play with my nails, a loud bang causes me to jump. A man with the loudest voice ever yells:

"STAND BACK!" I see mom stumbling back behind the barricade with other officers. More bangs echo through the area.

"What's going on?" I ask. Without saying a word to us the officers put mom and I into the cruiser before heading back to assist their colleagues. As we sit there, I noticed a man come down the street and swiftly entered the car and sped off.  Mom held my hand tightly. He drove for a few minutes and parked in front of a house. He pushes us out of the car and in to the house where we descend steps in to the basement. In the far corner was Rachel, Matt, Steph and Jazz.

"Please let them go!" I wailed.

"Speak again and they all die. " The man said.
"Now listen, if you ever want to see either of them again, you won't try to outsmart me. I also have men with me on the second floor, preparing your rooms." He said. I got a bad feeling in my stomach that I know this man. He spoke again and then I knew, it's Cody.

Melanie's POV

The man was speaking but instead of listening to him I eyed the house. Something catches my attention on the top of the stairs. Tyler turns around facing me, 'they're on the second story,in the room in the middle.' I mouthed. "The first thing you all will do, change into these cloths I've prepared.", He pulls out six baggy t-shirts and six pajama pants.

"Then, you, Rachel, will hand over your credit and debit cards along with the PINs. The rest of you will hand over your phones and go up to your rooms. Tyler will guide you. Nobody talks or don't even think of communicating." A deep voice said.

Nora's POV

We were lead upstairs and into three separate bedrooms. Now, I know it's a risk, but since no one was paying attention to me, so, I snuck back downstairs. I looked into all the windows I could see up close. But I wanted to explore the house and I chose to enter the kitchen. Lucky enough the backdoor was unlocked. I creaked the door open to see if I find anyone. I was almost outside but, I was suddenly forcefully turned around.
