Teasing on the run

When we step outside, I smell the meat once more and my heart pounds loudly. "I heard you hate me." He says looking over his shoulder. I spot Morgan. "Mhm." I answer looking around. "Can I ask why?" He asks. "You're a liar." I say pushing him out of my way and making my way to Morgan. "Hey Elizabeth." Morgan says grinning. I smile. "Can you help me take a plate to Carol?" He asks. "Sorry she's got lunch plans today." Richard hisses from behind me. I swing around and see Benjamin, Richard, King Ezekiel, Shiva and Jerry. "Burn in hell Richard!" I hiss. "Let's find a seat." Benjamin says grabbing my arms and I quickly comply with him.

They all talk and I pick at my food. "Something bothering you, Elizabeth?" Jerry asks and the whole table goes silent. My head throbs. My eyes burn. My breathing heavies but stays quiet. "I....No, I'm just...." What, What are you? My mind asks. "Well why don't we all get to know the intriguing Elizabeth?" Jerry asks smiling at me.
"Sounds good." King Ezekiel says.
They all agree and I sigh.
"What do you wanna know?" I ask.
"What's you favorite color?" Jerry asks.
"Purple or black."
"Cats or dogs?" Benjamin asks.
"Cats, I'm scared of dogs."
"Favorite food?" Jerry asks.
"Anything but meat"
"Pepsi or Coke?" Richard asks.
"Pepsi."
"Job before?" Jerry asks.
"McDonalds."
"That's-A loud buzzer cuts Richard off.
"Time to get back to work." King Ezekiel says standing up. I help Benjamin collect dishes and I see Richard move his foot near Shiva. Shiva roars startling Benjamin making him bump me and making me fall on..... King Ezekiel. The plates and cups fall and scatter around. Shiva and everyone stares blankly at me and King Ezekiel covered in food, water and tea. My face burns and I try to collect the dishes quickly. "I'm sorry." I mumble. "Elizabeth...Elizabeth." King Ezekiel says trying to get my attention. "Elizabeth stop and look at me." King Ezekiel says grabbing my hand and my chin making me look at him. "It's okay, everyone, every now and then makes a mistake." He says grinning. I quickly stand with the dishes I have and walk out quickly. Benjamin's hot on my heels. "Liz? Liz!?" He calls. He catches up with me. "Will you come over to my house tonight, I need to explain something." He says and I nod.

After taking the dishes to be washed and changing, we head back and meet King Ezekiel at the gate's door. We hop in the car and I sit between Jerry and Benjamin. A boy catches my attention. He's got brown shaggy hair. He's handsome TBH. He looks up and becomes red and looks away. After like 30 or 45 minutes of driving we slow down and stop. "Hey." I say walking towards the boy. He looks around like I was talking to someone some else.
"Hi, I....I'm Nicholas Hoult." He says.
"I'm Elizabeth."
"It's nice-Don't bother he's gay!" Richard cuts him off looking to me.
"But don't worry not even a walker would sleep with him." Richard sneers at Nicholas.
"I'm not gay." He whispers.
I huff and start to storm over to Richard.
"Elizabeth....no." Benjamin says grabbing my arm. I yank my arm harshly away.
"No, what's your problem with me and why are you so mean to everyone!?" I yell.
"My problem*scoffs* the ugly vegetarian says I have a problem!" He says making everyone look and Benjamin flinch. "Well, you won't be vegetarian forever." He says giving me a look and his eyes darken. I hear a walker growl. "Look at that!" He hisses. "One day you'll become one of those things and you'll tear everyone you ever loved apart!" He yells. The air falls thick and awkward. "Benjamin,Jerry and Elizabeth come with me. The rest scavenge over at that house." King Ezekiel says breaking the thickness of the air.

I pick up a can and shove it in my bag that I'm filling. I look around and get on the floor reaching under the shelf, sticking my ass in the air and grabbing another one. "Oh god I'm sorry!" King Ezekiel says and I yank up in surprise and bust my head on the shelf. "Shit!" I yelp rubbing my now sore head. "I'm sorry are you okay?" He asks. I nod and wince.
"Here let me see it." He says squatting and looking at my head. "There's a knot, but it should just be sore." He says looking in my eyes smiling. I swear it looks like he's leaning in. I feel his hot breath on my face. "We should look some more." I say hopping up and walking away. My heart is racing and I can still smell his cologne.

We all start piling in and Richard is eyeing me intensely. "Elizabeth come here." He growls. I walk over to him. "I just wanted to apologize to you for what I said earlier. It was rude. I just don't like getting attached or being nice. I have a huge fear of being hurt. I DID lose my wife to the fever. I had to put her down myself." He says. "Good for you, you're lying." I say walking and getting in the truck sitting beside Nicholas. I look at everyone and they're all staring at me. King Ezekiel looks anxiously around. "What? Do I have something on my face?" I ask. They all immediately look away and act like they're busy. Jerry whistles and grins. Richard gets in and I start getting frustrated. "What!?" I ask annoyed. "Nothing." Benjamin says smirking at the floor. I growl and look out the window when the truck starts up. Stupid idiots. But they're my stupid idiots..... I grin and bite my lip.
