Bunnyburrows: Recovery

General (POV)

Judy finished applying the gaze and bandage around Nick's chest. Although her paw still rested on his muscular chest. Zoey and Gazelle left her and Nick alone once they were sure he was safe to be around. It was already after dark and the others had already come to bed, but Judy decided to stay close to Nick. In case she was needed.

"I hope your okay." Judy said with a sigh.

She looked over at Nick's face and saw how peaceful and handsome he looked. She lightly reached for his cheek and gently stroked it. Nick gently stirred at her touch. Gently leaning into it. A light purr coming from his chest which caused Judy to smile. Slowly Nick's eyes opened and when they did he looked...happy. A small genuine smile was on his face. He tried to sit up but quickly regretted it as he felt his injuries again. With a grunt of pain and help from Judy he laid back down.

"Easy Nick." Judy said gently. Her voice sounded heavenly to Nick and he looked over at her. A curious look in his eyes."Your still hurt."

"How did you know my name?" He asked. His voice deep and hoarse. Judy bit her bottom lip at the sound of his voice.

"Your father told me." she answered truthfully. Nick looked deep into her sparkling amethyst eyes.

"Where am I?" Nick asked looking around.

He was laid out on a medium sized couch. There was a TV on top of a shelf in front of the couch. The windows were big and rectangular and the walls were made of oak giving it a light brown almost tanned color. There was a doorway towards the left of the couch that probably led to the rest of the house.

"I'm Judy and you're in my friend's house." Judy explained. "We're a mile or two from the burrows. Probably less." Judy looked back down at Nick's chest. Nick followed her gaze and noticed the fresh white bandages. "What...happened...to you?" she asked carefully. She was certain that he wouldn't hurt her. She actually felt safe near him.

He is your Bewachen. V2 said again. Now it was voiced by a female. Her voice soft and caring. Something would expect from an angle.

No! Don't trust him! V1 shouted. Their voice was male and sounded panicky. Sounding like a paranoid adult.  He's a FOX! He'll kill you!

Have faith in your Bewachen. V2 said again. He will die for your safety my child.

Nick took a deep breath. Bringing Judy back to reality.

"I was betrayed." Nick said simply. "A Baron took me into a helicopter, had one of his goons claw me." he gestured to the bandages around his chest. "And through me out of the helicopter."

"That's terrible!" Judy said completely shocked.

"The worlds a cruel place, Carrots" Nick said. "There's a quote I read a while ago. It said
'Enjoy life today, Yesterday is gone and Tomorrow may never come.' and for me." Nick said looking over at Judy, a sad look in his eyes. "Those words couldn't have been more true."

"Oh Nick" Judy said her voice now sad. She pulled him into a hug that he gladly returned. "Tomorrow will come, and I'll be there with you."

"Thank you Judy." Nick said a smile on his face.

Even though they' ve barely known each other they both felt happy in the presence of the other. Judy hasn't felt so safe or warm in her entire life, and Nick hasn't felt so happy or wanted in a long time. Not since Happytown.
