I Got Drunk And Married An Arrogant Rockstar? You've got to Be Kidding Me! [10]

"I'm not trying to pressure you or anything, but if you had to pick from the guys in the living room, including me, who would you want to spend most of your life with?"
"Brian." I stared at him dead serious for awhile. He incredulously looked at me. I couldn't take it; I broke out laughing.
"I'm kidding, you idiot! It would most likely be you."
He grinned at me. "But don't get too flattered," I added.
"Why would I ever get flattered when Mrs. Elena Carter," he added emphasis to Carter, "commented on me?"
"If you ever call me Elena Carter before I say that I actually like you, I'm going to get Nate to knock you out. Yeah, sure, we're married, I haven't forgotten about that."
"I'll use it when I feel like annoying you," he joked.
But I actually liked the sound of Elena Carter.

Chapter 10...
By then, Brian appeared at the door and whined, "Alex, get your ass out here." Alex did just that and hauled himself up. I waited for him to leave before I sprang to the door to eavesdrop.
"So," Nate started. "About that thing I had to tell you. Audrey just texted me. She's pissed off for two reasons. One, you haven't been answering your phone, and, two, she's noticed all the media you're getting with your...girlfriend?"
I guess I figured Alex had told them already about the marriage. I gritted my teeth as I waited for his answer.
"She's just a friend."
Just a friend? He's kidding, right? To hell with friends. If we were just friends, I wouldn't be in L.A. right now. My nails were digging in my palms as I clenched my hand in a fist. I was just about ready to barge out and slap Alex.
"She doesn't have a place to stay, so I let her rent a room in my apartment," Alex lied.
"Oh, so my big brother's a player now, eh?" Someone, whom I assumed was Luke, joked. I don't want to be the prissy "girlfriend", but Alex on getting on my nerves right now. For some reason, I tried to convince myself that I had no idea why.
"Yeah, boy!" Nate whooped.
Okay, so maybe I was overreacting a little bit. They were hormonal boys. Did I expect a deliberate or thoughtful action from them? The least Alex could have done was call me his girlfriend. We were connected in some way.
"That's mah' boy. He's walking in my footsteps. I taught him well," Brian said. I could hear the smile in his voice. I fought the urge to curse him out as I leaned in to hear their voices better. For a group of rowdy boys, they were quiet at the wrong time.
During the conversation, Brian brought up the fact that they had band practice tomorrow. From there, they started talking about music. Alex was relatively quiet, and I hoped that was because he felt guilty about what he had said earlier. A few times one of the guys would even comment on Alex's quietness. As if that would make him tell the truth.
"Audrey's throwing one of her big parties on Friday," Nate said. This time, I actually did curse. Even if I wasn't going, it's not like Alex has had much luck with parties either. Unless Alex isn't going...But I doubt that he would miss one of Audrey's big, extravagant bashes. I knew, for a fact, that I wasn't going to that party. Considering the fact that I'm with Alex, Audrey wouldn't dare invite me. I was okay with that. But anyway, today's Wednesday, so I've got time.
"She told me that she wants to see you there," Nate continued. I'm guessing he was talking to Alex because as far as I know, Alex is the only one among the five that has a tie to Audrey.
"You know how Audrey gets at parties," Mark said. "Consider yourself unlucky if you go." I could tell he was hinting at the fact that I was with Alex.
"No, man. Alex is single," Nate commented. There was only a small reply from Alex, in which he agreed with Nate.
"Oh. So that girl isn't your girlfriend?" Mark sounded quite surprised. Hah, I don't blame him. I guess Mark wasn't listening to the conversation Alex was having with Nate about us being "pals."
"Nope. She's renting a room. If you ask me, it's suspicious. Especially with all the pictures swarming around. I'd say that Alex is in a fling with that girl, Elena." He put emphasis on the last two sentences and I pictured him looking at Alex as he said it. "But you know what? It's none of my business on what Alex does with his girls," Nate continued. The way he made girls plural got me mad. I tried to tell myself that, again, I'm just overreacting.
"Saucy."
"Speaking of sauce, we better eat something soon before I result to eating one of Alex's guitars," Luke laughed. The rest of the guys agreed hastily, even Alex.
"Will the girl be coming?" Mark asked. There was a few moments of silence before that innocent question was answered.
"Yeah. And if anyone asks, we'll just say that she's a fan and won a secluded L.A. dinner date with the band. It's simple. In fact, it's the answer to all the recent pictures. She's just a fan," Alex replied. I rolled my eyes. Just a fan? Incorrect.
"Well, I'm up for Urasawa, how about you guys?" Nate asked. The guys agreed again.
Urasawa was a high class sushi restaurant in Beverly Hills. Man, was that place expensive. To make up for the prices, the food was so dang good. Besides, I could always go for a California Roll. Urasawa was among the best sushi restaurants in the world. All sorts of celebrities go there daily. I've only been there once, when Marissa took a few friends there on her twelfth birthday. When I was twelve, my birthday was in the backyard in Lancaster with Abby and Megan.
"One of the employees there is quite smitten with me, so we don't need a reservation. No worries about that," Nate voiced.
I slid down to a sitting position with my back against the light green wall, and hugged my knees to me chest. I waited for one of them to call my name as they finished chatting.
Impulsively, I got up and walked into the main room before I was called. Part of me felt guilty for eavesdropping on the conversation I clearly wasn't supposed to hear.
"Elena!" Alex called. "We were just about to get you. We've decided to go to Urasawa for dinner. Sorry if you don't like sushi," he shrugged. I don't think he could have faked his innocence any better.
"I don't have any other choices, do I?" I grumbled.
"No, not really. I mean, you could eat here...but I don't have a lot of food," he glanced over towards Brian, "anymore."
"Whatever." I walked over to "my" room and grabbed a sweatshirt. Surprisingly, in March, it can get a little chilly in California. I had gone shopping before with one of my other close friends from Lancaster, Annabeth, a few weeks ago, so I had fresh clothes. I could trust Annabeth, and I told her not to say anything about Alex and me yet. I wanted to keep this a secret for as long as possible. Which will probably end soon. I also bought sunglasses when I went shopping, so I grabbed those too. You never know when these will come in handy.
We left the apartment complex and everyone took their own cars...Except me, of course. I had to ride with Alex. The entire ride was quiet and I glared out the window during the ride to Beverly Hills.
Beverly Hills. The western side of L.A. that's home to countless amounts of famous celebrities. One of the most luxurious and wealthy towns in the nation. Filled with all sorts of press and paparazzi.

Annabeth is named in honor of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Just saying.
Thanks for doing what you do, my lovely fans.
I will still be updating on Saturday. This is just part one. And it has no name:[
