Both Loki and Erica began to make their way down towards the deepest of dungeons, Rheda's cell. As they continued on with their walk, Loki looked around the place to see just what state these Muspelheims kept their prisoners in. And from what he was getting, it was pretty poorly kept.
"You keep your prisoners here?" Loki asked, almost appalled. Erica spared him a quick glance that showed Loki that she thought that he was kidding. But when Loki didn't reply, and kept his same confused face on, it was then that she realized that he wasn't kidding.
"Oh, you weren't kidding. Well, umm, yes, of course. Where else are we supposed to keep our criminals? In some fancy room where he is kept warm and fed? Why would we treat our criminals better than we do our citizens? I don't know how it works in Asgard, but lest I remind you, Asgard is filthy rich and Muspelheim is the complete opposite." Loki slowly nodded and soon faced forward, only to come into eye contact with two guards about five yards away.
"Let me handel this." Loki nodded and allowed Erica to take the lead.
"Where are you two going?" One of the guards said while making sure to stand right between the door and them, causing a quiet growl from Loki. The other guard glared at Loki. But before Loki could go all berserk on him, Erica placed a gentle hand on his arm and shot him a look, telling him to stay calm.
"We are here to visit my sister, Rheda."
"Sorry, madam, only high ranking officials can pass through here." The younger guard said, referring to the fact that Erica was once a high priestess and now she was nothing but a lowly servant with royal ancestors.
"Actually, what if I told you that I have here with me, one of the highest of high ranking personel you could possibly get while here on Muspelheim?" The younger guard crossed is arms and arched an eyebrow at her.
"And who would that be?" Erica smirked and held back a chuckle.
"Royal guards of the palace's walls and people, I give you, our long awaited King and Savior, your Majesty King Loki." The guards both quickly looked at each other and then back at Erica and Loki. Once it truly hit them, they kneeled.
"Oh greatly awaited King, we apologize for our language towards you." Loki smirked; he could get use to this kind of treatment. But, Loki's glory moment was short lived when Erica decided to cut to the chase.
"Yes, thank you. Now, if we could get to the point. I would like to visit my sister, with King Loki, under no supervision." The two guards looked at each other with a 'is she allowed to do that?' face. Loki, realizing this, and decided to speak up.
"It shoudn't be a problem, correct? It is in fact my direct orders for you to allow us to pass." The older guard sighed and then bowed.
"Of course, your Majesty. Whatever you wish, it will be done." Loki smirked once more, that was more like it. And with one last quick bow, the guards scurried off, probably to tell the rest of the realm that their King had arrived.
Erica glanced at Loki, and then faced the door in front of them. She hadn't expected this, she was actually quite frightened. Erica had no clue what her sister might to do her, but the sad fact was that she deserved everything that she would probably do to her.
Erica then gathered up all of her pride and reached her hand towards the handle. With a deep breath, she quickly pushed the door wide open. There stood the very woman that Erica both loved and feared tremendously, Rheda, locked up in chains with her cloak still covering every inch of her body. She really was looked upon as a contagious disease.
As both Loki and Erica stood there, staring at the imprisoned figure in front of them, they suddenly heard a raspy chuckled. Loki could see Rheda's shoulders bobbing up and down as she continued to laugh. Slowly lifted up her head, Rheda revealed her piercing grey eyes and freckled covered face. Loki, once again, could not keep himself from staring intently at her spotted complexion.
"Well, what gives me the pleasure of seeing your two wonderful faces again, today?" Erica lowered her head, perhaps this was a bad idea, she saw nothing good coming out of this. Even if they got a word in, Rheda would never agree to being freed, she hated the people of this realm, and the people of this realm have always hated her as well. This plan would end in nothing but disaster.
"Why have you brought this two face scoundrel into my presence?"
"Is that anyway to talk to your sister?" Erica spoke. Rheda scowled at her, but there wasn't much to be seen, considering the fact that the only source of light in the room was the tiny window of the door leading to the dimly lit hallway.
"Not like you have any room to talk, besides, I wasn't speaking of you." Erica's eyes widened, but Loki's stayed at their normal bored, but evil look. Erica took a few steps closer to her sister and pointed a finger at her with disappointment written all over her face.
"How dare you speak of our King like that! He could have you killed for that remark." Rheda rolled her eyes at her pathetic adoptive sibling.
"First off, I and a lot of other people, would be more than happy if he would just end my life here and now. And second, that is exactly what Loki is, a man with many personalities, a master of trickery, a man of deception, a man with very few people who actually care about him, simply because of all of the lives that he has hurt." Erica stopped Rheda from continuing with a nice slap to the face. Rheda didn't allow herself to show any sign of pain. She refused to allow her sister to see her in pain, not anymore.
"Don't you ever speak that way about yourself, or other people. Now, King Loki has allowed your freedom, but not for a couple weeks. Until then, you will be under constant watch. But, from only two people, me, and King Loki himself." Rheda gave them both a blank stare, but there was also a hint of frustration and anger, from what Erica could see.
"What? No, I refuse. I will not ever go and see those so called people out there! They are nothing but beasts and monsters, and I refuse to be watched by one as well." She said while glancing at Loki, causing a growl from him.
"Well, peasant, it appears that you have no choice. Erica, you will be the first to watch her, I will be back later." With that, Loki stormed out of the cell room, furious. Erica sighed and looked at her little sister, this was going to be a long and rough while.
