Hope you enjoy!*
The days had long past since Loki last saw Rheda. He couldn't seem to bring himself to go and take his shift of watching her. Every time that he had made an attempt to go to her, Loki would begin to find himself becoming nervous. After many well thought out conversations between himself and the voice in the back of his head, he finally came to two conclusions.
1) If he went back into Rheda's cell, he knew that he wouldn't be able to control his curious side. It would soon get the best of him and then he would ask too many questions; making himself look desperate. Which he was, but Loki wanted to keep that on the down low.
2) Ever since he had thought those terrible, but at the same time, wonderful thoughts about Rheda being his queen and lover, he couldn't really look at her the same. This led to the fact that Rheda destination told, no ordered, Loki not to get emotionally attached to her. The reasons for this were beyond him. But all he knew and needed to know, was that she told him specifically not to.
Loki inwardly groaned. This woman was making him soft. Since when did he take orders from people, especially women? Rheda was indeed ruining him, but was it for the better or worse? That is a question to be answered in due time.
Today was the day of which Loki would be crowned king, finally. He had waited for this moment for what seemed to be a never ending lifetime. Never before had he been so nervous and yet so anxious. He was going to be king, for real this time. Loki was so excited that he could hardly contain himself. He almost let his guard down and allowed a smile to pass through his thin lips, but he restrained himself.
As Loki sat upon his golden throne, he gazed upon the servants that dashed and scurried about, trying to get things ready in time. They had been planning the ceremony for weeks, but it still wasn't quite finished. Apparently the ceremony was an even bigger deal than Loki had first thought.
According to some of the servants, the whole realm was invited. Of course, this was to be expected in Asgard, but Muspelheim? It was one of the most repulsive, god forsaken realm had ever seen. It was even worse than the puny realm of Midgard, and that place was pathetic.
"Hey, that is my home that you are talking about." Loki flinched, suddenly hearing a familiar voice within his head.
"Rheda?" He telepathically asked, shocked.
"How did you get into my head? I mean, without me being able to detect your presence?" He heard a slight sigh, but only silence followed. Loki sighed and rested his chin upon his fist. He needed something to do to pass the time. He had hours before the ceremony ad he had nothing to keep himself entertained with.
"Go to the library." There was Rheda's voice once again. He had no clue how she was able to read his mind without him being able to feel her within his mind. Perhaps it was this so called Almighty One. Maybe He was in fact truly real, or not. Rheda could just be a powerful and wise being. That was a much more sensible explanation.
"Stop wasting time! Go to the library!"
"Fine!" He yelled aloud, attracting a little attention. But not much, thankfully. Loki shot up out of his seat and stormed out of the throne room.
"Okay, now where is the library?" He received no reply. What in the nine realms could she possibly be doing? Loki contained to walk down the hallway wandering about like the madman that he was. He came to a sudden halt when he felt a gentle hand in his arm. He instantly thought of Rheda, but when he turned around he was most surprised.
"Erica?"
"Hello, Rheda sent me your way. She said something about you needing assistance in finding the library." She said in more of an interrogative way than a declarative.
"Rheda is the one who sent me to the library." Erica smiled and giggled while wrapping her arm around his.
"Come, it is this way." Erica turned Loki around and began to lead him in the right direction.
Loki couldn't seem to his mind off of where Erica's was currently placed. Why was she being so kind to him when he was nothing but rude to her? What did she owe him? Perhaps Rheda threatened her. At that thought, he turned towards Erica, causing both of them to stop in their tracks.
"Did Rheda threaten you to hurt you if you didn't come and guide me around?" Erica giggled once more and continued on forward.
"No." Loki arched his eyebrow. What was going on?
"You will see soon enough." There Rheda's voice was again.
"Are you always able to read my mind?"
"Yes, but that is not the question. The question is whether or not I take enough interest in you to listen to your corrupt thoughts all of the time."
"Well, do you?" There was no reply, which caused Loki to smirk ever so slightly. Erica took quickly noticed in his sudden mood swing.
"What are you so excited about?" She said, not sparing him a single glance.
"Oh, just the fact that I get to go and read a good book. Haven't done that in awhile." Erica giggled again, causing Loki to quickly become frustrated. He was growing more and more irritated with her with every happy noise that came forth from her mouth. He found the sounds absolutely repulsive.
"What is it that you find so funny?" Loki asked in an irritated manner.
"Oh, it's just that for being the god of lies and trickery, you are indeed one terrible liar." Loki took her words very offensively. Never before in his life had he been told such things. A terrible liar? Who was he? Thor? That great oaf? This puny Fire Giant simply had no idea of what she spoke of. Loki had much to teach her about her mischievous and lying qualities.
"Oh, don't worry, she knows well enough. You just didn't pull that lie off very well."
