The Moment I Knew (A Farewell, My Love Fanfiction)

Scare

It had been two days since Kensi's surgery, but the doctor wants to keep her for a few more days for observation.

Laila sent Nicky to stay with his "Uncle" James in Asking Alexandria while she stays with Kensi and currently has her phone on the little girls lap, letting her listen to her favorite Farewell, My Love Song.

"I's cwazy, baby
Peas meicate me
Til I wose my head"

Then all of a sudden, she complains of her chest hurting.

Doctors rush her to emergency surgery, while she calls everyone.

(Two Hours Later)

London was holding a hysterical Laila, while everyone was waiting for an update on Kensi.

About five more minutes later, Kensi's surgeon came over to the group.

"We were able to determine the cause of her chest pains. I'm afraid she is in Acute Heart Failure. The only treatment is to do a transplant. We have put her on the list and if you decide to take her home to wait, we will make her as comfortable as possible."

London and Laila knew they wanted their little girl to be surrounded by her friends and family, so they decided to discharge her the next day.

(Skip to when they're home)

London gently carries his princess into her room and places her on the bed.
Everyone chipped in to help get the room more suitable for when she came home.

There was a toddler hospital bed, a medicine pump, a machine for vitals, and the drawers were full of tubes and there was a mini fridge which kept the medicine chilled.

London called for Laila.

Laila held Kensi's while London administered the morphine.

"Ow, Daddy. That hurts." Kensi said while the needle went in.

"I know, Sweetie. But Mommy and Daddy are making you as comfortable as possible so you can have strength for when you get your new heart."

After the medicine was given, Kensi fell asleep.

"What is she doesn't make it?" Laila asked as they walked to the living room.

"She's going to make it and we all will be there when she does. We're even going to do a benefit concert to raise awareness and Kensi's other hero's band is going to open."

"You mean Austin is going to be there?"

"Yeah."

A/N: I know it's short, but I have an idea for how this story will end. It will be sad, but good. Hint: Someone will die (a car accident and I'm not naming any names), and the heart will go to Kensi. This chapter is the second to last one.
