“Without leaps of imagination or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all is a form of planning.” -Gloria Steinem

Our flight takes off at 3:00 a.m. Early? I know. But we only picked it because there weren’t as many passengers on this flight and we could get seats in 1st class this way. So we went to sleep at 8:00 p.m. so we could get a little bit of sleep, considering we were going to leave the house at 12:00 a.m., and that we were probably going to end up sleeping the entire plane ride there.

We got maybe 30 minutes to sleep. We were all way too excited to go to England to be sleeping. We kept tossing and turning, and then turning and tossing.

Katie’s POV

At around 10:00 p.m., I finally fell asleep. I was dreaming about mine, Dani, and Sapna’s best guy friend- Zach Beeken.. He is an AWESOME guy. I asked him if he wanted to come with us to England, but his parents were taking him to France as a graduation gift. I really like him, but I think he only likes me as a friend- nothing more. He’s tall, has brown hair, has a really toned torso- if you know what I mean- and has the most warm, gentle, beautiful blue eyes that I could just fall in love with everyday. He is the sweetest, funniest, and cutest guy ever. Yeah, he may seem a little awkward, but that’s the cutest part about him- the shyness. Dani, Sapna, and I have known him since freshman year. He’s such a great guy, and any girl would be super lucky to have him- *cough, cough* me.

BEEP, BEEP, BEEP! ugh, stupid alarm ruining my awesome dream.

Well whatever. I can dream about Zach while I’m on the plane. Right now I have to go wake up Sapna and Dani, and then get ready.

Dani’s POV

It wasn’t very hard for Katie to wake me and Sapna up. I mean we weren’t even asleep.

Since we were going to be on the plane for about 8 hours, we all decided to go for a lazy/comfy look. I wore black moccasins, skinny jeans, and a sweatshirt I got from camp from when I was in Iowa. Katie wore a pair of black converses, skinny jeans, and a hoodie she got from cheer. And Sapna wore Adidas slides, skinny jeans, and a Marengo hoodie. She begged us to let her bring the Marengo hoodie because it was her favorite, but we said she could only wear it on the plane.

So at 12:00 a.m. we left the house. It was about 12:50 a.m. when we got to the O’hare airport in Chicago. Normally it would have taken longer, but because it was so early, there was almost no traffic. We parked our car, checked in, and went through security fairly quickly since the airport was pretty much empty. It was 2:00 a.m. by the time we finished all the airport stuff, so we went to the Starbucks inside the airport. We had to get coffee to wake ourselves up, otherwise we would’ve fallen asleep at the airport and missed our flight. After getting our coffee, we went and sat near the gates where we have to go in to board our flight.. We were fine until about 2:45 a.m. We started getting impatient and restless.

“Flight 169 to U.K. boarding now. Flight 169 to U.K. boarding now.”

I thought I’d never hear those words.

England, here we come.
