Unforgiving Nature

The trees and leaves speak to me

But only amongst the fallen branches

Do I hear whispers worth repeating

They tell me they envy the flowers thin stems

That they wish there curves weren't so thick and disjointed

Even though the new barks mended and rough

Realizing this only makes them feel weak

Cause although the tree is bigger than life

And the stems could bend at winds might

The branches still wither in fear and self-waste

That someone could just as quickly crunch them in hate

But nobody notices, not even the plants

Of the devolving leaves already broken and lost

They spend the rest of their days looking up

To the sky, to the green, and feel jealous

For those withered away branches are tall enough to be

And spend their life amongst all the beauties to see

The wonderous leaves that once held their heads high

Now only look at those they once ignored

For those who once felt tough and mighty and strong

Now only crumble away next to those who still belong
