Forever and Always
"We're actually not going to New York." tinignan niya ako. "It was a last minute change of plans, we are going to Korea. I wanted to go there before but I never had the time." paliwanag ko.
"Okay then, wherever you want to go mi amore" I really like hearing him say that endearment to me. "I love you." sabi ko bago ako natulog. It will be another flight to Manila where we began our journey and ran away here.
But we will be running again, running away from all the ruckus we made, from the chaos and from the pain. Until we're ready, until I'm ready to face my own fear without him, without anyone by my side.
"Please buckle your seatbelts, we will be landing to Manila City." People started unbuckling their seatbelt when they woke up. Sinuot ko din ang aking seatbelt at nagsimula na kaming maaglanding. I looked at the window.
Manila might not be much, but this is where I grew up.
Our flight was a chained flight kaya mabilis din kaming nag check-in at hinintay ang flight number namin. Pagarinig namin sa flight number namin at agad kaming pumunta sa Gate 3.
"Another long time away from home."
THE airport was better than Philippines and unlike Philippines there were Koreans who dressed traditionally, maybe welcoming someone important. Agad kaming pumunta sa mga taxi "annyeonghaseyo, taegsi tasigessseubnikka?" of course I didn't understand what he meant but I do understand annyeonghaseyo.
"U-uhm Annyeong, we are tourist we don't speak Korean" He quickly understand what I meant. "Arraseo, So you are not Koreans? Would you like to ride on my taxi" Even though his accent was kind of strange, we quickly nodded our head and he put our luggage at the back compartment of his car.
"We would like to go to Mayfield Hotel, it is near right?" he nodded his head.
Unlike Philippines, Korea's air was fresh, maybe because I felt a thousand of burden on my back was lifted. "Nagkausap na ba kayo ng Mama at Papa mo?" My happy mood began to become sour. "Hindi pa. Let's not talk about it."
After saying that he didn't attempt to start a conversation again. The atmosphere became awkward not until someone called my phone.
"David!" I greeted. David was an old friend of mine, a gay who is currently working in an entertainment as a make-up artist. Bumalik ang sigla ko pagarinig ko ng boses niya.
"YOu texted me awhile ago na you're here in Korea so I took a break-off muna from work" SInabihan ko siya na pupunta ako and he didn't hesitate to take a break-off for work.
"Kasama mo ba si Cess? I missed her"
"Apparently she's with her boyfriend but I'm asking her kung makakaputa ba siya or hindi, that girl has a wonderful love life" Natawa ako sa sinabi niya.
David wasn't really a gay, though he acts and dress like one he prefer dating a girl than a men.
"David, let's meet at mayfield hotel" The taxi stopped in a big hotel with 'Mayfield Hotel' written on it.
"Okay" He quickly replied and ended the call. "How much?" He simply pointed the number. kumuha agad ako g pera sa wallet and also gave him a tip.
"I've been wanting to see these beautiful golden trees" I quietly said as I looked up at the falling golden leaves from the trees. I suddenly felt someone hug me from my back and whispered "Yes, you have waited long enough."
We entered our room with ease since it's still not the pea season where many people book. "Kamusta ang firm niyo ng Papa ko?" tanong ko, I know pulling him into my stunt may cause him a lot of trouble.
"Tito is fine with it" tumango ako bilang sagot. "Ate Hazel is in Switzerland." Gusto kong sabihin sakanya, what my sister told me, kahit hindi siya maniwala. At least I told him.
"She's with her boyfriend, nagkausap kami. She was a dear sister to me and I hated her, every bits of her when we were kids. Ayaw ko sakanya because of jealousy, I was a brat back then, but I tried my best to change for the better. Kung kalian gusto ko nang magbago, kalian rin nawala ka saakin. Though it was obvious na gusto mo na siya."
He was quiet, hindi siya nagsasalita, I don't know whether to continue or not, but I continued. "Her boyfriend is bizarre. Well fiancée niya na ngayon. I planned and plotted with her and her boyfriend, kung kalian siya aalis. I didn't know my parents would misunderstand though. Ayaw ko gawin noong una, but I remember her getting a temporary amnesia when I pushed her, sabi ko sa sarili ko maybe in this way makabawi na ako sakanya. so I did it."
"Hazel told me already" tumango ako noong narinig kong sinabi niya iyon. "I knew she would, she's a great sister after all, I didn't try knowing her, that's my mistake."
"Theo matulog na tayo, pareho tayong pagod sa flight." pagkasabi ko noon at humiga ako sa King sized bed. Sumunod naman siya at nahiga sa tabi ko. He hugged me behind my back and started kissing my neck.
"Sorry.."
Hinarap ko siya at hinalikan, we exchanged passionate kisses and words. Until we went to a world where everything is a bliss.
MABILIS na nakatulog si Theo after what we did but I tried to stay awake and wrote a letter to him. I looked at the time and I was still not late for my flight.
This is my goodbye and I love you to you my dear sweet Metheo.
