I rush into my math class late, out of breath and looking extremely tired. handing my late pass to my teacher, I head to the empty seat next to my best friend, she gives me the once over shaking her head, as I sit I give her a tight smile.
"Another busy night? What was it this time?" Marissa asks me, knowing my habit of snooping, and lately shes decided that it's a hazard to my health.
"Nothing, I was just up super late," I sigh tiredly, throwing up my ash-blonde and brown hair into a messy bun. "I had issues with the firewall last night. I think someone is keeping tabs on me." I answer in hushed tones as I take out my notebook. Her baby blue eyes grow wide and I instantly regret mentioning that part to her .
"Oh my god, Vee. You have to stop this! It's getting dangerous, your not sleeping, your coming to school late, now someone is keeping tabs on you?" she shakes her head worried about me. "I don't like you doing this Vivianna, but I trust you know how to take care of yourself. So don't get mad at me for just being concerned for you."
I roll my eyes, sometimes she acts like the mom I never really had. I grew up with my dad who never really told me who or what happened to her, which started my obsession with hacking, snooping and uncovering secrets. I found out that my mom had died suspiciously, and my dad was their number one suspect. I never quit digging, which is kinda easy to do since hes never home, he's always at work, running the business he owns. After more digging I got her life story and a few pictures of her, I look -just- like her. I have her petite features, her hazel eyes and her lush brown hair. She grew up in this city her whole life, just like me, being the daughter of Dallon Morrison, I pretty much know everyone, not that I'm really friends with anyone except Marissa.
We have been friends since I could remember, her mom knew who I was and that I didn't really have much of a family, so she kinda just took me in as her own. And when she isn't worried about me Mari is.
"Thanks mom, look I'm fine, I said I think. I'm not sure yet, it could just be a virus from one of the sites I hacked, anyway I updated my firewall, so it should be good now." I scan the room noticing a few people missing today before my eyes land on an unfamiliar face.
Brown black hair gelled, deep mysterious brown eyes that look like they don't miss a thing, there's a certain agility being held back in his body as if he could react so swiftly that you wouldn't know what happened. He's wearing a deep maroon t-shirt, dark jeans and black hiking boots.
Who is he?
I see he isn't alone there are two other boys there with him, both wearing similar clothing. One has dark blonde hair and grey eyes, he's taller than the other two, and also looks stronger. The other one has black hair, his eyes a mix between brown and hazel, not quite green, not quite brown. He's the smaller of the two but looks like he could get his way with anything.
I turn to Mari with curious eyes. "Who's the newbies?"
She turns around then looks back at me with a smile on her face. "Them?" Her eyes glimmer with the opportunity to gossip. "The one sitting in the middle, brown eyes, his name is Jack, kinda the leader of that little group, no one knows why their here or who they all are, they lie pretty low I guess. Though I don't know how with faces and bodies like that." she wriggles her eyebrows giving me a mischievous look, giving me all I need to know about what she's thinking.
She moves on "The tall one, his name is Sean. Kinda intimidating, everyone is saying he's kinda like Jack's body guard, you know the muscle. Black hair, his name is Alex. He's kinda the nerd of the group." She shrugs. "But that's all second hand information, I don't know if I've got it right."
I laugh "Okay gossip girl." I hear the buzz of the bell before it rings and throw my notebook in my bag, realizing I got no work done I head out of the classroom.
