Blue Eyes Crying

It was the year of warlocks when the colony of dragons landed on Earth. There were only fourteen at that stage - the males and their female partners. There were two of each colour: Yellow; Gold; Blue; Green; Red; Black and White. However once they found a suitable place to settle there were arguments. The Yellow dragons argued they were the fairest and therefore deserved superiority over all other dragons. The Blue dragons argued that they were the wisest and that they should rule the colony because they had the most wisdom and expertise. The Green dragons argued that they were the luckiest of all dragons and that they should rule to bring good fortune to all the other not so lucky dragons. And on it went. The arguing never ceased and so consequently the dragons split into different groups.

Each group of dragons found a place where they could settle and breed. The Yellow dragons at the summit of the mountains, the Gold in a cave somewhere unbeknownst, the Blue right next to the dominant river, the Green out in the open plains near the foot of the mountain, the Red decided to settle in a cave and the Black and the White dragons decided to settle together near the top of the mountain.

It was very rare for any of these six groups to come in contact with one another because the mountains were so vast but an encounter with a dragon from another group was normally brief and chilled. Each group had its own way of living and regulations and rules often swayed under the reign of a new leader. Normally dragons would fight for their leadership and then attempt to bring integrity upon their small colony. However there have been occasional breaches in the dragon code of honour which was formulated by the first fourteen dragons on Earth.

Now, there are approximately ten dragons in each small colony as the breeding process can take an exceptionally long time. The birth of a baby dragon — in particular a drake — arouses imminent interest throughout the colonies. However is is customary that when a drake is born to the king of a colony during his reign of leadership there will be a gathering, of sorts, to celebrate the birth of  the royal drake. It is compulsory for all the leaders of the current colonies to attend that gathering. All the leaders then have to furnish the newborn drake with gifts such as wisdom or honesty. However it is extremely rare for a king to have a son born to him during his period as a monarch because either his reign won't last long enough to successfully court a female dragon or he will not have enough time to do so.

Rare as it is though a son was born to the king of the Blue dragons — extremely recently. King Neptune was overjoyed at his good fortune and sent his messenger — Iris — to tell his news to the kings of all the colonies. All the kings came and bestowed gifts upon the newborn drake - Sapphire. The Gold dragons placed a gift of superiority on Sapphire, the Yellow dragons presented Sapphire with wisdom, the Green dragons gave Sapphire the gift to be truthful and honest, the Red dragons the ability to become invisible and finally the Black and White dragons gave Sapphire the power to speak all tongues.

None of the other dragons aside from Sapphire could speak in any foreign tongue as all the dragons had never seen any need to speak any language other than Skyrim (the language of dragons). So when strange two legged beings descended to the dragon's home in the mountains it was up to Sapphire to make them leave.

This may sound like a simple task but in reality no-one knew the dragons were there and the dragons didn't want anyone to know they were there so Sapphire was confronted with the difficult task of trying to get the beings to move with out alerting them to the dragons right under their long pink noses.

While Blues for centuries to come will gloat over their close victory there will also be tears of sadness among them as they remember what they lost and their sacrifice.

It will always be Blue eyes crying.
