Uta's POV:
After a few days of working Mizu and I got a day off. What I loved most about our jobs is our schedule was the same almost all the time.
Unlike Mizu, when she sleeps in, I don't wake her up with a big stick to the head. If after an hour of me being awake, she's still asleep, I'll wake her up with a song.
The song is always different it's usually Japanese. Today I decided to wake her up with a classic.. pen pineapple apple pen.
So I started singing:
I have a pen, I have an apple."NUU!" All of a sudden I felt a stick collide with my face.
"OUCH! What was that for?" I tried to be serious and scold her, but I couldn't help and giggle at her hate of that song.
"You promised you would never sing that song in my presence!" I could see her face redden with anger while she flung her stick around.
"Oh come on! It's a classic! You didn't even let me finish the line!" I collapsed on my bed not even trying to contain my laughter anymore.
"UGH! Fine! Go ahead!"
I have a pen, I have an apple!
UH! Apple pen!She willingly lets me finish the line.
"THANKS!" I Smile at her as she throws her stick to the floor. "Why do you love that stick so much?" I ask the question I've wondered since forever.
"Are you kidding me?! You don't know?" She looks at me with a face of surprise. I shrug,
" I don't know."
"All the memories. All the fun we've had with this stick?!" I shrug again. "I'm beginning to wonder why you don't love the stick?"
"Well, it just so happens that every time I see it I tend to get a hit to the head." I stated. She matches my tone of voice by saying,
"well it just so happens that this stick has been around as long as you have. And it's not just any stick! It's my dookey stick!!" She picks it up and shoves it in my face, showing off the dried bird poop that has been on it since we were 10.
"Yes. That is some nice bird poop on that dirty old stick." I roll my eyes and push the stick out of my face.
She gasps and holds the stick close to her chest and pets it. "She didn't mean it. She's just a mean old lady."
"Hey! You're older than me! I'm just more mature." I have a look of offense. I decided it was about to change the subject, or else, knowing Mizu, things will get crazy "So, we have a day off. What do you wanna do?" She looks at the ceiling lost in thought. After a minute or two she finally speaks,
"OH! Let's go to the comic book store!"
"Mizu... you've got to be kidding me... your day off and you want to go to the comic book store...where you work?"
"Well, yeah! They have good... books..." I can tell she's making it up because a blush creeps up on her cheeks. I decided to have a little fun.
"Oh yeah? What kind of books?" I raise my eyebrow.
"Umm. The comic kind?"
"Oh! Oh! But of course. But what are they about?" I can feel her getting closer to confessing.
"Oh! There's one series called 'Star Fair' and it's about Fritz Donegan and- wait... since when were you interested in comics?" She's onto me!! Abort! Abort!
