Don't you love having such a vivid dream that you think is real?

Well I don't.

I woke up around five am, and couldn't, no, didn't want to go back to bed. So I took an hour long shower.

When I got out I threw some blue jeans on with a Harry Potter t-shirt, and some cream colored flats. My hair was still wet so I braided back. Stuffing all my homework in my back pack, with my phone and headed downstairs.

I reached the landing, and noticed that the monitor by the front door was flashing. Someone was calling the house, stepping closer to the screen, it read St. Claire's psychiatric ward. I tapped the answer button, and a young girl's face appeared. She had the electric blue eyes I was so familiar with. It was Kara.

As soon as I saw Kara's face, I waved excitedly at her. She smiled brightly, her dimples showing. Unlike me, she had  a rounder face than I and blonde golden hair.

"Hey Sis! I can't wait for this weekend!!" She signed, practically jumping out of her seat. Putting down my bag, I replied, "Hi! Me neither. I'm picking you up right after I get out of school, okay?"

"Got it, you have no idea how glad I am that I'm taking a mini vacation from this place." I felt the guilt in the pit of my stomach rise up. " Don't worry, when I get you we will do whatever you want." Smiling I planted my hand on my chest.

Suddenly Kara's smile faltered. She looked around over her shoulder and signed," the voices are getting worse. They won't stop, I don't know what to do." Hesitating, I lifted my hands.

"Well, I promise that we won't have to deal with them tonight or this weekend. Now, make sure you bring your camera okay? We'll develop your pictures."

Kara's smile returned. She nodded and signaled goodbye.

I turned away from the screen, trying not to cry.

Deep breaths. In and out.

I headed into the kitchen and grabbed one of Mom's sandwiches. Tossing it in my bag, I almost forgot my hearing aids.

Get it together Kaitlyn.

Ten friggin minutes later after searching for the hearing aids, I was finally ready to leave.

So I walked out the door, but not before catching myself from almost  tripping over a vase of flowers.

I bent down and picked up the cream colored flowers. Pretty. But I don't have time for this... carrying it into the house, I set them on the kitchen counter.

Then raced out the door.
