We settled in later that night.
I pulled out some of Dad's spinach salad for dinner, while Kara went up to her old room. She had been gone so long, she'd forgotten where it was.
Queue the guilty music.
She deserved some time, and I was going to give it to her.
So while she did her thing, I started setting the dinner table. Which is when I noticed the mysterious jar of flowers from this morning on the counter. Looking at them closely, I realized that they were quite extravagant.
Cream colored orchids were beautiful, a favorite of mine. But they weren't as gorgeous as sunflowers.
I wonder if that guys from...
"Those are beautiful! I saw Kara sign from the doorway. She had a huge smile and quickly rushed over.
It hurt to look at her, seeing how unfamiliar she was in a place we were raised in. A place I was raised in.
What was I gonna do?
You're going to give her an amazing weekend, come on self, get with it.
So with a positive outlook, I handed Kara her plate.
"I got them this morning, I don't even know who they're from." I signed, scooping some salad onto her plate.
Kara frowned at her newly acquired substance. "What's this?"
Now it was my turn to frown, "It's salad, you know with all those healthy vegetables kids are suppose to eat." I smiled.
"Seems fishy.."
I turned away to serve more food, and thought to myself: What the heck did they feed her at the sanitarium?
I mean is she just messing with me or does the place not give her healthy food?
I guess I'll have to find out.
