I Never Knew

Flea

The cold wind rushes past Shizuo and whips his hair into his face as he falls to the city far below him. He opens his eyes to stare at the blue sky and white, fluffy clouds above him, drifting lazily as if to watch him fall to the ground. There are no thoughts running through the blonde's head as he plunges to his death. His mind is blank. Chills run down his spine for fear of what he's doing, but he can't make himself regret his decision. He needs this. He wants this. 

It feels like an eternity that he's falling. His mind loosing all sense of time. He closes his eyes once again, and for the last time right before it ends, and he crashes down onto the street below. But right before impact, he whispers "Izaya....I'll find you." Then, it ends. He feels nothing, he hears nothing, and he sees nothing. 

Shizuo doesn't know where he is. He's aware of himself, but, there's absolutely nothing. All of his senses are completely gone. 'Is this it?' he thinks 'It can't be. There must be something! I have to find Izaya!' Then, as if his thoughts triggered something around him, a blinding light flicked on, coming from nowhere, illuminating the absolute nothingness around him. It was all just....white. He tried to move, to speak, but he couldn't. He was helpless to whatever events were to come, if any were coming. 

Then, once again, everything went dark. Nothing. Endless nothing. But, it did have an end. Shizuo slowly blinked his eyes open to light shining down on him. It was that white blankness again. But, there was something here. Well, someone. Shizuo could see his slender, dark haired raven staring down at him. His body floods with relief and pure joy. All he could manage to say was "Flea...."

Izaya looked at him warmly and whispered "Shizu-chan. What took you so long?"
