To the boy that I love,
At first we were an unlikely match, I never imagined myself with you. You were just the boy that I had a strange encounter with and I thought that's all you'd ever be. While you were disguised as a random boy underneath all that was everything I've ever wanted. I had pictured my future before. White husband with mixed children. I admired the light eyes and complexion our children would have. But then I met you, you weren't the picture of my future. As much as I tried to make you fit the mold, you didn't. Instead you made me get a new one. You changed everything. My perspective, my life, just everything. It was like a domino effect, you touched one thing and everything else began to change as well. While many tell me I have no idea what love is, I think to some extent they're right. But the way I love you is different. It's not like the rest of the adolescents falling in love based on touch. You ignited a fire within me without laying a finger on my skin. Thank you, I know I say it a lot but truly thank you. Thank you for waltzing to my life. Thank you for pursuing me. Thank you for forgiving me. Thank you for apologizing. Thank you for loving me. I would say putting up with me but that's a given. But I appreciate it when you cooperate with me on my bad days. I promise to always do the same. I promise to love you on the good days, bad days , and the shitty Mondays in between.
