Aliens in the Attic

Prologue

Sofia was in her room listening to music while she was painting on her canvas; she was so focused that she didn't hear when Jake entered her room from the window.

"BOOOO"
"OH SHIT DON'T KILL ME, TAKE EVERYTHING YOU WANT BUT DON'T TAKE MY WILL SMITH POSTERS  PLEASE I REALLY LOVE THEM AND HERE HERE TAKE MY COMPUTER AND AND-".She stopped rambling when she heard a loud laugh.

"Geez Soph, its only me. I thought you heard me when I came in." Jake said with a big smile on his face. He was sure she didn't heard him, he was tiptoeing and extra careful to not get caught.

"You little shit". Exclaimed Sofia pointing him with her finger. "I really thought I was going to die, you almost gave me a heart attack" she said while putting a hand on the left side of her chest.

"Oh how I missed this drama queen" he said ruffling her hair. "Anyways, I came here to say hello and to invite you and your family to come with my family on a family vacation".
Sofia looked at her Will Smith poster "I've never heard the word family being used in one sentence so much"
"You know what I meant" Jake said while rolling his eyes.

As soon as he said that;George, her father, came through the door exclaiming "Get ready Sofia, pack your things, we are going on a family vacation with the-" he interrupted himself. "Oh hi Jake I guess you already told her so em yeah; pack your things we leave at 8 in the morning" he said as he closed the door. He didn't bother to kick Jake out because he's like a son to him and he knows that his daughter and Jake are only best friends.

"Well, I guess we the Jordans are going" she said wiggling her eyebrows. " Now that I know about this family quality time we are going to spend, I have to ask you; Is your uncle Stuart going?" it's not like she doesn't like him, it's his son Tom she doesn't like. They were fine when kids but as they grew up, their thoughts changed and now they can stand each other but for short periods of time.

"Why do you ask?, You would like to see you best friend Tom ah?" Jake said with a smirk on his lips knowing she can't stand his cousin. He sat beside her "I'm sorry to inform you my friend that, yes my uncle Stuart is going and Tom is one of his children so, he is going too". The smirk never left when he was saying that.
Sofia just rolled her eyes "You know I don't like him at all" she sighed "But I guess I can try and tolerate him a little" she finished with a forced smile. Then she went to a table, took a slice of pizza that was on a pizza box and bite it.

Jake took another slice "So Sofia, when are you going to get over The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Will Smith?" He said while looking at the many posters she has on her walls.
"I am never ever ever getting rid of any of that" she took another bite "That show is my life and I know it ended many years ago but still, I love it" 
Jake just laughed and shook his head saying "Oh Sof, you sure are something else"
