                             Y/N'S POV

"How do you even do that?" I asked after watching Malcolm do another trick of Find the lady. "It's easy" he said after the stranger paid him a coin and left. Malcolm turned towards me with the cards turned outwards. "Just Follow the Lady" he mumbled turning the cards over. "See when I start switching the cards she magically disappears."

I rolled my eyes at the statement. "Come on Malcolm just tell me." I groaned pushing him slightly. "Now darling if I did that. I would be revealing the trick to everyone." He smirked down at me. A new guy walked up behind him and tapped his shoulder. "I'll go for a round." He mumbled in a deep, gruff voice. To be honest the man sounded drunk.

"You got it sir. But it'll cost ya a pretty coin." Malcolm said setting up the cards on the table. The man nodded his head in a motion telling Malcolm to start. "Okay. Now sir. Follow the Lady.." as he moved the cards I couldn't see that he actually slid the lady up his sleeve. But the man sure did. "Hey I saw that kid!" He bellowed out. Malcolm looked startled raising his hands. "What do you mean?" He asked quickly shaking his arm letting the card fall to the ground.

"You stuck that card up your sleeve." He stated pulling Malcolm's arm towards him throwing up his sleeve. "HEY DON'T TOUCH HIM!" I shouted at the man. He rolled his eyes. "Stay out of this girl." The man mumbled looking at Malcolm. "I'm not paying for a scam" the man mumbled picking up his coin. "Hey I did your trick. I deserve to be paid!" Malcolm stated as I walked behind the man.

"Cheaters get nothing" the man stated as I took his coin bag out of his pocket. "Not cheating. It's the game." Malcolm stated as I walked back next to him nudging him to let it go. "It's fine Malcolm we don't need anything from this cheapskate." I mumbled grabbing his hand. "Let's go."

"You shouldn't have done that." Malcolm said pacing in his spot of the old tree house. Our home I guess. "We need the money more than him." I told him standing up. "I'd think you would be glad I did that. I mean look at the amount of coins he had." I said taking a few coins from the bag.

"I'm glad we have the money, but Y/N you could've gotten hurt." I rolled my eyes. "Malcolm.. I'm fine you know I'm good at stealing. Don't worry." I walked up to him grabbing his hand. "I know you are.. just don't do that again. At Least not to someone who looks dangerous." I smiled up at him "You can trust me that I will do what's needed. For us."

I woke up in the middle of the night to yelling. Not from far away or outside but next to me. I rolled out of my makeshift bed and walked blindly to the source. "Malcolm?" I asked as I squatted down next to him.

"I'm sorry I woke you.. go back to sleep." I shook my head placing my hand on his shoulder. "No it's fine. What happened?" I asked helping him up. "Just a bad dream.." he mumbled as he sat on my bed. "You wanna talk about it?" He shook his head. "No.. no. I just want to forget about it." He stated laying as I played with his hair.

"Do you want me to tell you a story? It could help." I asked as he laid his head on my lap. "Please." He whispered closing his eyes.
"Once upon a time.. There was a magical land where children who felt lost and unloved could live and play in peace."

"This land was called Neverland, because any child who stayed on the island never aged. There are no kings, no one rules the island. It's simple to go to Neverland, but only those that truly belong can go."
My voice slowly got quiet as I could hear Malcolm's breaths get heavy. They always did when he fell asleep.

"All you have to do to go the land of Happiness where children roam free is say the words deep from your heart." I whispered the last kissing the top of his head. "I Believe.."

Slowly I started to drift off into sleep leaning my head on the wooden wall behind me. "Neverland is as real as you and me.." I mumbled before closing my eyes.

"(Y/N)! Get up we gotta go!" I woke up to Malcolm shaking me from my peaceful rest. "Huh? What? Why?" I asked shaking my head a bit to get rid of the sleep feeling that still lingered.

"That man you stole from he's coming! He found us! We gotta go dear!" I nodded quickly grabbing my already made bag for this situation as Malcolm threw on his cloak.

I grabbed the coins and stuffed it in my bag. "We shouldn't bring that." He said opening the latch on the door. "Were gonna need it though.." I said as he grabbed the coin pouch out of the bag. "This will be safer with me." He said before climbing out.

I smiled watching him climb. We may be in a load of trouble but this is what I live for. Us being together. No matter hell or high water, always. Some way or anyway.

"What are you looking at?" Malcolm asked with a smile as I jumped down from the tree house. "Well you of course.. but only cause you still use the stairs.." I said as he shoved me before grabbing my hand. "Let's Go." He whispered before we ran off into the trees.
