Eerika was tired. Her brother had eased his obsessive desire of creating hybrids, but she could still see the doubt in his eyes about giving up his plans. She hated to be the cause of his uncertainty, but she still firmly believed that if it was strength the hybrid craved, then family unity would provide just that. Unfortunately, her siblings' wars would not cease. Distrust was thick between all of her family members, and that displeased her greatly. It use to not be this way. It use to be always and forever. But the witch could tell that things had changed, and, in all honesty, was sometimes fearful of her family loosing their love for one another. Someone once told her that love was eternal, but she always had a feeling that eternity was the cause of destruction. Eerika always shook those thoughts away; her family is a family and no matter how twisted they are, they will always be one. As Eerika took another sip of her juice, while sitting on a bar stool in the Grill, a demanding voice spoke from beside her.
"Why is our magic different?"
Eerika raised a brow at the young Bennett and flashed a charming smile. "Hello, Bonnie Bennett. How are you?" Bonnie released a breath in response.
"Just answer my question."
"Now why would I answer your question when you have not answered mine," she mumbled, while gazing at the pretty amber liquid in the bottles on the shelf. Confusion and annoyance rippled through Bonnie. Her lips pursed as Eerika patted the seat next to her, but she obeyed the Mikaelson girl's silent request.
"I would be better if you would quit playing games."
Eerika chuckled lightly in response. "Games? Who said I was playing games?"
"Just stop, Mikaelson." Bonnie glared at the girl before her. She knew that Eerika was powerful, extremely powerful, and she knew that her actions were reckless, but this girl could be the cause of a war between the Originals and them. She had to protect her friends.
Eerika sighed and shot a small smile towards the protective teen. "I'm not playing any games, doll." She turned her attention towards the ridged witch. "I don't want any trouble between our two families, I just want mine back."
Bonnie huffed. "Sure you do," she mumbled, but there was hesitance in her sarcastic response. Her tone held a notch of belief in it. "Will you answer my question now....please?"
Eerika's eyes scanned Bonnie's face intensely. "There are different kinds of magic. I practice one that is very old and very extinct; only my tribe held this power that I have now, and I am the last of my people. That is why you can not recognize my magic."
Bonnie's facial features hardened. Eerika's magic was so rare that it was a mystery. Bonnie could never grasp the depth of the Original's magic; she was in complete ignorance, and that blindness left her at a disadvantage. Bonnie hated this. "Just stay away from my friends. We don't want any trouble."
Eerika's gaze remained on the courageous girl beside her and a minute of silence flickerd between them. "I admire your courage. It adds to your beauty and reflects your strength, but I have a tip for you. Do not fear the unknown because sometimes the unknown is what you need." Eerika placed a hundred dollar bill on the bar top and slid off the stool. "Goodbye, Miss Bennett, it was a pleasure talking to you." Eerika grinned and flounced out of the bar, leaving a very frustrated Bonnie behind.
I'm so sorry! But I have recovered from my writer's block and have created a few more ideas for this story! Thank you to all my loyal readers! I love you!
