I ran to the gate and rattled it when I saw the closed sign.

“It's so weird. His truck's here." I said pointing at it.
“Come on. This way." I said going around back.
“No, you wait here." Jace told Bella sternly. I turned around just incase a fight breaks out. Bella doesn't like being told her what to do.
“Who made you the boss?" she snapped. See.
“It's okay. Just let us know if anyone comes." I said stopping the argument. I am in a hurry here.
“I've known Luke all these years, but I've never been down here." I told Jace walking through the basement.
“What?"  I said confused. I came to this room with scratches everywhere. I just ignored it and went upstairs with Jace. I started to hear voices.
“Now, listen...all you got to do, mate, is tell me the truth."
“I'm telling you, I don't know where the cup is" I know that voice. It's Luke! But who are the others?
“I know you and Jocie are close. I'm not stupid, am I? Don't answer that. Listen to me, mate. Just tell me where the cup is. And then Jocie will be fine. Lukey tell me the truth." Jace did this trick for us to see what is going on on the other side of the bookshelf.
“I don't know." Luke said. I saw he was tied to a chair with two bigger guys interrogating. I had to keep myself from gasping out loud.
“You don't want to make me angry."
“I'm telling you..." Luke was about to say.
“Do you? I'm going to ask you again, mate, where's the cup, huh?"
“I don't know."
“We all want the same thing, lukey boy, don't we? Difference is, I think you know where it is. Don't you? Come on, come on. Talk!"
“We need to go." Jace whispered to me.
“No, please, you have to help him."
“You don't understand. They work for Valentine. He's a dead man. I can't help him." he whispered to me with no emotion.
“He's like family." I told him quietly.
“You know what's really amazing is how much you actually look like a human. Isn't that great?" said the stranger. Luke got punched again.
“Please." I begged Jace desperately. He guided my hand to the wand that he was holding and went to get something.
“Are you gonna get mad? You're going to change? I want to see you change. Show me how you can change. Huh? Look at that. Look at that. Dog boy's coming on. You want to hump my leg?  You hump legs? You like that? You want to smell my derriere? I want to see you change! You just got to tell me where Jocelyn hid the cup. Then you can have her back. She'll be safe and sound." What I just heard next crushed me and I was about to start crying.
“I don't want her back. I couldn't care less. I have spent years cozying up to that woman and her brat for the mortal cup. Pangborn, listen to me. I want to be the one to give her to Valentine." Luke said.
“Yeah, right." Pangborn said.
“You're making a big mistake." Luke said with pain.
“I don't believe you. Do you believe him?" that was all I heard before I bumped into a vase, knocking it to the ground where it shattered. Jace told me to run when he saw Pangborn and his friend turn to me. Didn't have to tell me twice. I ran out ignoring Luke's protests. When I got out side, I saw a police officer turning into a demon.
“Oh, no. Run!" I told Bella. I tried to run but the demon grabbed my wrist. I felt a stinging pain in my arm but before I could see what happened to it, Jace killed the demon and the one in the police car.
“You killed two cops!" Bella screamed at Jace scared out of her mind.
“They weren't cops. Let's go!" we ran into a alley when I suddenly couldn't take it anymore. I started crying hysterically next to the wall.
“Clary. You can't stay here. They'll find you" Jace said coming up to me.
“How could Luke say that he didn't care?  I've known him for as long as I can remember. He used to read to me every night. He's been picking me up at school for years."
“Look, maybe those memories aren't real. Do you remember what I told you? You can't trust anyone."

I started to panic again. “No, I have to find my mom. I have to go home. There must be something that I missed!"
“Listen to me, okay? We'll figure this out, but not here and not now. We need to get you to a safe place. I'm a shadowhunter, clary, and I will protect you with my life." he told me calmly.
“There you guys are. I thought you were right behind me. I thought I'd lost you."
“Okay. I'll follow you." I said when I was calmed down completely.
“Are you sure about that? Cause he just killed two cops." Bella yelled at me like I was insane. I just ignored her.
“Yeah they weren't cops." jace said coming up to me. He sounded a bit annoyed with Bella.
“They looked like real cops to me." Bella said half a hour later on the subway with me.
“They weren't cops."
“Okay." Bella scoffed “so, where did they get the car?"
“They weren't real cops." Jace said simply. When we got off the subway, we ran to this big building.
“We'll be safe in here." Jace said unlocking the gate for us.
“What is this dump?" Bella asked me rudely.
“This isn't a dump. You just can't see it." I said softly. When we got inside the institute, I started to feel dizzy and sick.
“Hey!" Bella said catching me as I fall. As I was laid down, Jace went to my arm.
“What the hell is going on? What are they doing here?" I heard from someone.

“It's a demon bite." Jace concluded from looking at my arm. I suddenly heard a rush of footsteps coming towards me.
“Clary. Jace do something!" Bella said worriedly.
“Is this the part when you start tearing off pieces of your shirt to bind my wounds?" I asked Jace.
“If you wanted me to take my clothes off, you should've just asked." Jace told me softly with a hint of amusement. Before I passed out, I saw Jace putting something on my arm.
