OPERATION UNKNOWN

Chapter 4

I drove aimlessly for the next hour or so, until I got a call, then I pulled over and checked the caller id: Unknown Number. Great! Probably my step-father/boss of my precious license calling to chastise me.

"Agent Carter." I answered.

"Hello Agent Carter. I don't believe we've meet officially." said the person on the other side. Who happened to have a robot voice.

"Well obviously not." I said dryly. "So Mr.Robot voice, who are you and what do you want?"

He chuckled before answering "Who said I was a he?"

"Oh for Gods sake!" I exclaimed.

"My name is Ms.Robot. And I am calling you to ask about how Mr.Christians doing?" she said wryly. Realization finally dawned on me and I grew really angry. "Well listen Ms.Robot if you lay a hand on him again, I will rip you apart limb by limb with my bare hands and watch you burn." I sneered.

"Oh really? Believe you are that strong do you?" she asked amused.

"Yeah, clearly. So I suggest you watch your back."

"Oh believe me I will....I know how you are. I've known you for the past ninteen years!" she said and disconnected the line.

'For the past ninteen years'. It was family. Someone I was close to was going to try harm Christian again. I banged the steering wheel with frustration.

"Riley Carter" Riley answered his phone.

"Its me. Can we meet?" I asked discreetly

"Where?" he replied in an equally discreet tone.

"You decide." I said looking around. I was calling from a payphone. I knew my phone would be taped.

"Kingdom at 3." he said and hung up.

Kingdom was a very prestigious school where all the rich kids went. My little sister goes here so nobody had any right to question my being here.

"Good choice." I said as soon as I saw Riley.

"Why thank you." Riley smiled, briefly. His face soon grew serious. I had to speak in codes in case there were any rats around.

"Family called today. To ask bout Christian." Riley nodded once to say he understood what I meant. "I told her he was as good as new. She wanted to know where he was to see him. I told her no because of the danger."

"Which family?" asked Riley, looking around casually.

"Ms.Robot" I laughed. Fake obviously.

He looked at me like he knew exactly who it was. I stared at him. He didn't say anything. Distantly I heard the bell rang. He gave me a quick hug and whispered in my ear "Use this." as he slipped a phone into my hoodie pocket.

He knew something and he wouldnt tell me.
