21. Tracking

Nate P.O.V

I stood in the back yard with Rose and she was telling something I need to hear but I couldn't stop thinking about Cas. I'm sorry I didn't just tell just tell her what she wanted to hear. I don't blame her for my father but I really didn't want to talk about it.

"Nate, Hello." Rose yelled getting my attention.

"What?" I said back and she huffed.

"Have you been listening to me?" She said walking over to me.

"Yeah." I said back.

"No you haven't been, because you're stuck on everything with Cas. If you just talk to the woman you wouln't be having problems like this. She feels bad about your father dying and you are making her feel even worse." She said to me and I nodded.

I walked over to the spot where I just saw her standing and worked on doing what she did. She was amazing at this witch stuff and things around her work at will. She made a whole tree look as if it was just a deer standing there. I focused and tired doing the same thing but when i heard a scream in my ear I turned. It was Cas and it was though our connection but after that i didnt hear a thing.

"Do you feel that?" Rose said looking at me.

I could feel fear and pain in my connection with Cas and I forced myself not to get scared as well.

"Can you hear Xavier?" I said and she stopped trying to.

"No, I'm not connected with him." She said scared.

"Can you take us to them?" I asked her and she was already getting to scared.

I grabbed her hand and she closed her eyes but we didnt go anywhere. She was showing me how to do this earlier and I had to do it now. I closed my eyes and focused on where I could feel her. We slowly started to fade away and when I opened my eyes we had to be maybe a mile off of them. Thats was good for me on the real first try but now we had to get to them. I shifted and waited for Rose to do the same and when she didn't I huffed. I moved over to her and wrapped my mouth on her leg and bit down a little. She moved back in pain and looked at me angry.

"What the hell?" She said and I nodded forward.

She quickly got the point then shifted with me. We both started running and all I could smell was Cas, then my fear got worse as I smelt her blood as well. The smell of her blood only made me move faster to get to her. I could see a car wreck in the distance but I couldnt feel anyone was there. I stopped there and smelt around finding a puddle of blood and it was Cas, and a little Xaviers as well. I kept smell around the road till I found the problem, that strong disgusting smell of her mother was there.

She was trying to hide it but I could still smell her strong here. I looked back when I heard Rose howling and I moved to her wanting her to stop.

"Rose, stop." I said and she looked at me.

"Then what do we do?" She said.

"If Cas mother is still around she will know that we are here and we don't want that. I can't smell that she walked away where but to the car. She must had used something to turn into ash and took them with her. What we need to do right now is get back to the house and find out where she could be, understand?" I said and she nodded.

I couldn't believe this happened and so quickly, I had to find her and now. I don't want the last thing I ever said to her to be me yelling at her. I Rose kept smelling around till she found and smell and called for me.

"What is that?" She asked me and I knew.

"Her mother." I said looking at the smell that went into the field and then into the trees.

I started following it slowly and Rose kept closer behind me at all times. We made it into the woods and looked around seeing the trail went back further. We started to follow it and after awhile I could feel she was getting tired. We have been following the trail for about an hour now but we had to keep going. After another three hour of walking I saw lights a head of us but I could also smell the house now. I walked out of the trees and saw that we were back at the pack house again.

"We walked back to your pack house." Rose said tired.

"Yeah, that means she was watching the house and I didn't notice." I said walking out of the trees and heading into th house.

Rose went her own way as we came into the house and I looked for James. I had not idea where to started but he had to know somehting about where she could have tooken them. I walked into his room and he looked at me with slight fear in his eyes.

"What happened to her?" He asked as I shifted back.

"I don't know thats why I need your help, where could she have taken them James? You have to try and think as hard as you can." I said to him.

He walked aorund the room thinking when i felt my connection open with Cas for a second and I I didn't feel fear from her. That gave me some confort to know that she was keeping things under control but then the connection dropped again.

"We had a cabin, like a summer home." James said looking at me.

"Where was it?" I asked him.

"I don't know, but it had a river next to it and it was in chicago." He said and I looked at him.

"You keep thinking and I'll get some wolves out looking for her here." I said and he nodded.

"I'll have my pack do the same." He said as I walked out.

I had to stay calm to find her even if i did feel like crying right. Everything is happening fast and right now I want her back before she ends up like my dad.
