   Kacey's POV:

I remember the night that everything changed.

I was walking through the neighborhood at night, on the way back from my best friend Natalie's house, something I did regularly without a problem. About halfway down the block to my house, I saw some college-age frat boys walking my way on the street. Probably drunk, I thought to myself as I heard them talking and laughing loudly. I figured they would pass me and go on with their drunken stupor.

Instead of passing me, they stopped in front of me. I froze, and my hands began to sweat. I had never been in this situation before, and I was seriously beginning to wonder why all of them suddenly stopped in their tracks to look at me.

"Hey there sexy," one of them said in a slurred voice. I was so scared that I couldn't even open my mouth. The three guys, way larger than me, started towards me with the intention to do something I really didn't want to happen until marriage.

"Get off me," I said weakly, shooting my arms out in front of me in an effort to push them away. As one of them grabbed onto my waist, I squirmed and made a terrified noise. Oh shit! Shit, shit, shit.

I had flashbacks to scenes in movies, like this, and I knew just what was going on. At that moment, I thought my life was going to change forever. Something happened then that changed my life forever, but not in a bad way.

Suddenly, out of the woods behind a house, a flash of black came out into the streetlight. I heard a low growl and one of the guys yelled, "Holy shit!" It looked like...a wolf? What?

The guys practically shoved me and started running, as the wolf ran towards them, snarling. I thought it was going to come for me next, but after chasing the boys off, it nervously stared at me from a distance as I stood up and brushed myself off. My hands were shaking and sweating even more now, as I looked at the large black wolf in awe.

I started to walk fast, almost breaking into a sprint, but I tripped and fell to the cement again. I turned around to see the large wolf standing over me. I sat there, completely still, scared out of my mind. It had almost torn those guys to pieces, and they're lucky it didn't. I didn't know what was up with this wolf, I mean, what if he had rabies? Or what if he mauled me or something?

As I lay there on the cold cement, I closed my eyes and winced. Instead of snarling, the wolf suddenly whined at me, and I opened my eyes. It nudged me with its wet nose and licked my cheek. I sat up slowly, and the shiny black creature sat beside me. I looked at it, flustered, and without thinking I slowly went to pat its head, still being cautious. It wagged its tail, and I buried my face in its fur. I was so confused and terrified, but I felt safe. I sat there a moment, breathing in the smell of the woods on its fur. It looked up at me with strikingly blue eyes. In fact, they were so blue, it was kind of weird. They were the kind of blue that only humans had. Besides, I didn't even know wolves could have blue eyes.

I stood up slowly, making my way towards my house. I expected the wolf to leave and veer off somewhere else, but instead it followed from farther behind me. I kept walking, not knowing that I was going to do if he followed me all the way back.

Once I got back to my house, it followed me onto my porch. I looked at it with pity, my mind unsure of what to do. By this point, I had figured out that it was a male. I slipped into the door, leaving him behind, hoping he would go off somewhere. I mean, I couldn't just bring in a wolf. We didn't have any pets, and my parents didn't necessarily want one. Well, my mom did, but my dad didn't. Mom would take in a stray in a heartbeat, and I might could convince her it was a dog, but my dad, not so much.  He didn't like animals.

Once I shut the glass door, he looked relieved and left. Huh. That was weird. It's almost like he knew that was going to happen, so he rescued me. He wanted to make sure I got home safe...wait a second. That's crazy. Nah, just a coincidence. My mind was racing with possibilities, my hair probably matted and a mess. Not to mention my expression probably looked like I had just seen a ghost.

I  stumbled upstairs, where my mom was. My dad was in the living room, asleep on the couch. Mom told me goodnight, and told me she had paperwork to do, and then she was going to bed. I managed to keep myself alright until my mom shut the door.  It was only 9:30. Once my mom went into her room, I burst into my older brother's room. "Cody," I breathed, my voice shaking as I was still in a little bit of shock.

"Kacey, what's wrong? " Cody patted the spot beside him on the bed.

I told him the whole story, every detail, and he looked at me in awe. At that point I had calmed down a bit.

"A wolf?" He scoffed a little, but hugged me and said, "I'm sorry they did that. Next time, have me walk over there and get you. I won't let anything happen to you. Do we need to tell mom and dad?"

"No. No way. They'll call the cops and cause a scene. They were all drunk. Besides, I see their younger brothers at school, and one of them was in that group," I replied.

He nodded. "If it happens again, we're telling them, okay? So this wolf, sounds like he was watching you or something before the guys came up to you. There's been rumors about a werewolf here...did anything seem abnormal?"

I laughed. "A werewolf? You're kidding me, right? No way. But his eyes were really blue...I've never seen an animal with blue eyes like that."

"I'm being serious! This one chick at school said she had seen this wolf on the edge of the woods, and he went in. A few minutes later, a boy came out of the woods. Blue eyes, huh? Probably mixed with one of those Alaskan dogs that have the blue eyes," Cody said.

"Cody, you're seventeen. You can't believe in werewolves. No. This was just a coincidence. Look, I'm going to bed. I need to go to sleep." I really did. Something happened that I never thought would in a million years. A wolf, coming out and saving me from a few drunk guys? Something was off here, and I needed to put on my headphones and think everything through and calm down.

Cody rolled his eyes, and said, "Goodnight."

I went to bed, but I stayed up and listened to music until about twelve. I couldn't really sleep because I couldn't stop thinking about what had happened, so I did some research on werewolves, but nothing made sense because I didn't know much. Just a whole bunch of nonsense about "gods" and wolves raping humans. It all disgusted me, really. I fell asleep eventually, dreaming of the beautiful black wolf that saved me, and more specifically--his eyes.

Yooo so this is Blu. I'll be writing in Asher's POV (the dude) but this nihha right here (Red) didn't wirite an authors note so I will.
