Luhan was distraught and he couldn't get a hold of himself.

Xia lay on the hospital bed infront of him, limp and lifeless. The only sign of her consciousness was the soft rhythmic beeping of the machine and the slow movement of her body moving up and down as she took breaths in.

Because Luhan wasn't a blood relative, he wasn't allowed to be made aware of her condition. The doctors were forbidden no matter how much he begged to tell him exactly what was wrong with Xia.

He spent his entire day by her bedside, forcing himself to stay still and just watch her. Numerous times he had caught himself staring at her hand. He wanted to lean forward and take her warm palm in his, but he felt like he was taking advantage. He couldn't possibly touch her without her consent.

But right now, right now he convinced himself that she needed him. She needed his touch. She needed his presence.

As he had many times, Luhan had come closer than ever to seeing her face. Right now, and when he watched the doctors push her hair from her face.

But he didn't see it though. Just as he was selfishly attempting to peek, a doctor came and pulled him out of the room, asking him if he was a guardian.

It was like some sort of sick fate. Whenever he was close to see her face, something or someone would stop him. This again, strengthened Luhans belief. He was not to see her unless she allowed it.

Right now also, he was so close to her. When he walked into the hospital room, her mouth was covered by a oxygen mask and her eyes were shut. Even this much facial skin he couldn't bear. Luhan was quick to brush her hair so it covered as much of her face as he could get. He did this with his eyes closed.

Behind him, the door swung open and a doctor entered the room holding a clipboard.

"Is she okay?" Luhan was on his feet, staring down at the doctor.

"She is fine. I can only tell you that much." The doctors face was grave and expressionless. Luhan couldn't read him at all. And this made him more frantic.

"Will she wake?" He choked. Just the idea of never-

"She will wake."

The doctors straight answers were not helping one bit and Luhan felt his chest heave numerous times. But all he could do for now was hold Xia's hand in his own and pray on her behalf.

She was ill. And by the looks of it, really ill.

Xia woke up to a initially unfamiliar place until she noticed the soft beeping noise of the machine she had been listening to all her life.

She was in hospital again.

Xia tried to move and sit up and felt her hand restricted. She tried to move her hand again and felt it come into contact with another hand.

What the-

Her eyes fluttered open and she saw little light through her dark hair. It seemed she was not alone. The soft sound of someone snoring beside her caused her to panic momentarily.

Who could it be? Besides her teachers, no-one knew of her visits to the hospital.

The hand in hers twitched and she felt the person stir in their sleep. She quickly decided she had to sit up in order to see the person. This was fine, she'd have to get up sooner or later.
