(averie's POV)

"Don't you dare touch me," I hissed at Liu who was trying to wrap his arm around me.

We sat alone at the couch the night that Jeff left, and he was uncomfortably close.

"Aw, come on babe" He said with a playful smile.

I groaned and pushed away from him.

"I am with your brother," I said angrily, "do you not respect him enough to not harass his girlfriend?" I asked, gazing curiously up at Liu.

It's not that he's ugly. Because believe me, he is not. It's that he's a playboy. I bet I am nothing more than just another challenge for him to overcome. Unlike my Jeff, who really truthfully loves me.

"Well no, considering that he killed me!" Liu said exaggerating.

I choked on my drink. Jeff killed Liu? He killed his brother? All this time, I was believing that Jeff's family was murdered by one of Zalgo's drones. Not by Jeff himself.

"I–I'm sorry," I muttered under my breath.

"Make it up to me," Liu said inching closer to me.

"Ew, no." I groaned as I pushed him away from me.

"I'd comply if I was you. I am stronger and can do whatever I want. Regardless of what your darling Jeff thinks." Liu threatened.

I swallowed hard. He is much stronger than me. There is no way I can over power him.

"You don't even care about me like Jeff does. I bet to you I'm just another pretty girl in the crowd that you expect to be head over heels for you. Well guess what, pretty boy. I'm not that girl." I said crossing my arms across my chest.

Next to me, Liu laughed. I glanced up at him and for a moment, just a moment, I saw Jeff in his features. In the sharp curve of his jaw, the way his smile curled up into a smile, the cut of his hair, the shape of his face, they were too identical to be separated by two years.

"You're staring."

"No I'm not."

"Whatever. You're more stubborn than a mule."

I smiled at this. I got under his skin. No way he would like me now.

(Liu's POV~about ten o'clock at night)

I watched as averie slept peacefully on the couch. Her long, blond hair was sprawled recklessly onto the cushions and some onto her face. I resisted the horrible urge to reach out and remove her hair from her face. I could see why Jeff loved her so much. Despite that she's strong-headed and rude, she was actually very kind and considerate. And she can change a person, even the most evil person, in a heartbeat. With just a smile. I reached out to touch her and was cut short by the phone ringing loudly through the house.

"Jeff..." averie muttered as she shifted uncomfortably in her sleep.

I groaned and stood up to go answer it.

"Yo." I said into the phone.

"Liu," Jeff said on the other line, "where's averie?" He asked, curiousness and concern obvious in his voice.

"Chill, bro. I got this. She crashed on the couch a few hours ago. Probably tired from all the fun we had." I said smiling involuntarily.

I could just imagine my little brother's face, flushed red with frustration and helplessness.

"I swear if you did anything to her Liu. I will kill you all over again." Jeff hissed into the line.

"Whatever. Hey, can I carry her up to your room? She looks uncomfortable on the couch." I said, genuinely concerned for averie.

"Fine. But that's it. Don't do anything else." Jeff said as he regained his composure.

"Yeah, whatever. Bye." I said, not giving him a chance to answer as I hung up the phone.

I walked over to averie, who was in an awkward position on the couch and scooped her up into my arms, surprised at her lightness. As I made my way up the stairs, averie grabbed a fistful of my shirt and laid her head close to my chest, to where my heart should be. I glanced down at her, only to find her smiling. My breath hitched and heat flushed my face.

"Jeff...come back..." She muttered.

I groaned. Of course that's who she's thinking of. As I laid her on the bed and covered her with the blankets, she grabbed onto my sleeve just before I left. I leaned down close to her. Maybe if I just... just a little...lean into her. It'll be quick. Harmless. I was so close that I could feel her breath on my lips. My lips hovered just centimeters above her's.

"Stay." She commanded, surprising me and causing me to back away.

I sighed and pulled up a chair, sitting next to the bed. Just as I was about to fall asleep on the chair, there was a knock at the door. Half awake, I meandered downstairs. Before I opened the door, I peered out the window. Outside, was the girl Jeff was going out with before he met averie. What was her name? Something that starts with a 'R'. Rene? No. Rebecca? No. Ah her name was...

She knocked on the door again, snapping me out of my thoughts. I opened it and looked her over. Just like i remembered.

Riley.

"Well, well, well," she said as a grim smile made its way onto her face.

"What do you want, Riley?" I asked rubbing my forehead in annoyance.

I'll admit, Riley is a very pretty girl, but she's not my type. Before she died, she was a whiny coward. And I heard that now that she's been resurrected, she's a rude little witch.

She gasped and feigned hurt, "so cruel, Liu. Just like your brother." She said.

"I won't ask again," I said getting frustrated at her cool attitude, "what is it that you want?"

"Oh but it is not an 'it' that I am here for. It is a 'who'." She said with a wide, toothy grin.

"Jeff's not here," I said finally.

"I'm not here for Jeff, sweety. I'm here for averie." Riley said trying to step past me and into the home.

I laughed ever so slightly and opened my mouth to say something when I was interrupted.

"Liu? What are you doing I thought I told you not to leave..." averie said as she appeared behind me.

I groaned. If these two girls both love Jeff, this will not end well.

(averie's POV)

I gritted my teeth at who was at the door. Liu stood in front of her blocking her entrance. And I know that vibrant red hair and shiny grey eyes all too well.

"Riley." I hissed.

"Oh. averie. You're with Liu now? Does Jeff know this?" She asked as a playful smile made its way onto her face.

"NO." I said angrily.

"Well, I have news from the other Creepy Pasta house. The other's never arrived, they fear that Zalgo has them." She said glancing down at her nails.

Riley opened her mouth to say something else but I shut the door in her face and collapsed onto the couch. I screamed and kicked at the table, knocking over a can of soda. Liu sighed and bent down to pick it up.

"She's lying." He said as a matter of factly.

"And how would you know?" I asked, my voice shaky from fear and concern.

"Because I was on the phone with Jeff himself before Riley arrived." Liu said looking straight at me, his piercing green eyes locked with my blue ones.

"Besides..."

(Liu's POV)

"Besides...if Jeff ever left, I'll always be here for you."
