chapter 22

(Jeff's POV)

I groaned as we walked to the other Creepy Pasta house. Sally had gotten tired of walking and she was on my shoulders, pulling leaves from the trees and ultimately making my shoulders extremely tired.

"Are we almost there?" Sally asked from above me, she sounded annoyed and extremely bored.

"Almost," Slender said from ahead of us.

Jane gave me a kind smile and said, "want me to carry her?" She asked holding her hands out for Sally.

I shook my head no and smiled back. Jane nodded and we continued forward. The rest of the way was silent until we reached the house and Sally screamed, shattering the silence. And boy, did she have reason to scream. As I peered around Slender's tall body, I saw the remains of the Creepy Pasta house. There was ash all over the place and the roof was collapsed. Among the ruins, BEN, Lost Silver and Red Eyed spirit sorted through useful things like food and supplies.

"BEN!" Sally shrieked and climbed off me running towards BEN.

"You guys finally arrived." Lost Silver said in the usual melancholic tone.

"Yes, it seems we have. Do you mind going into detail on what happened?" Slender asked as we all made our way towards the rubble.

"Well, I would but..." BEN said gesturing over to Sally.

Immediately, Jane and Red Eyed Spirit said, "Sally, why don't we go play over here?" They shot each other poisonous glares and led Sally away from us.

"Wait," Slender said raising his hand, "who was this house's leader?" He asked.

Suddenly, laughter erupted from behind us and Slender facepalmed.

"Well it's my brother!" Splendor man said wrapping his equally as long arm around Slender's shoulder.

"Alright then, mind explaining what happened?" Slender said in a no-nonsense tone.

"Of course, bro!" Splendor said in a cheerful tone.

Then, Splendor went into a long speech about how Zalgo had come to the house and attacked out of nowhere and left them in big trouble.

"Well, seems like you're in a troublesome situation. Wait, where's Clockwork?" Slender said.

At that, a heavy silence fell over us and drifted between us all.

"She...we lost her during the attack." BEN said looking down at the ground sadly.

"Yeah. Don't mention her." Ticci Toby said from behind us.

I suddenly remembered that Clockwork and Toby had something going on and felt sympathy for him. If something were to happen to averie, I don't know what I would do.

"Jeff," Slender said breaking the silence, "call averie and Liu. We might be here longer."

I opened my mouth in defiance, but understood why and pulled out my cell and dialed our house.

(Liu's POV)

"Besides...if Jeff ever left I'll always be here for you." I said.

At this, averie began to blush madly and silence drifted between us when a loud ring shattered the silence. I groaned and moved away from averie to go answer the phone.

"Liu here," I said rubbing my forehead in annoyance.

"Liu, dude. Is averie there?" Jeff's voice rang at the other end.

"Yeah hold on," I said placing my hand on the receiver, "averie ! Jeff wants you."

(averie's POV)

As I took the phone from Liu, our fingers brushed and he blushed before turning away and leaving the room.

"Jeff?" I asked happily.

"averie" Jeff said, relief and happiness flooded his voice, "I'm sorry to say this but, we have to stay a little longer."

My heart sank into my chest, "what? How long?" I asked, hearing the sadness in my voice.

"Hey don't be sad. It'll be three days tops."

"Okay. Well be careful."

"Bye I have to go. Love you."

"I–I love you too."

(Liu's POV)

I heard averie say goodbye to Jeff and mutter I love you. Once she walked back in, I smiled at her.

"Hey," I said.

"Hey."

"Can I ask you something?" I said.

averie looked up at me surprised, but nodded.

"Will you...fight me?"

"this chapter was my doing. whatcha think ?"

hmm...not bad i guess, wanna write the next chapter ?

"oh boy i do !"
