I couldn't believe her. I had refused to.
Why would people be getting murdered in a spaceship?!
What was happening earlier?!
Who are these people?! Why are we on Gavaspia?!
My hands were shaking, and I was pretty sure they were trying to do a facepalm, or perhaps an ear pull, something to confirm I'm still alive. I think my eye was twitching as well, perhaps? Instead of making myself look more stupid, however, I just let a sigh escape my lungs and in that moment, all I could care about was who was in charge of this spaceship, and my safety.
"Okay, look, woman. I'm freaking out over the fact that you might have just possibly, just maybe, witnessed murder or not. But right now, because I don't see blood on your hands, I want to know this: who is the captain of this ship? And am I allowed to go there?" I growled, at some points lowering my voice to where it seemed like I was muttering to myself. Then, I watched as her lips pursed together, like she wanted to retaliate, or as if she was unpleased with my sharp tone.
"Um," Sila stuttered off, gaining confidence as she continued speaking, "The captain of this ship is, er, Captain Eduardo, and he is required to stay at the front of the wheel at all times, so he shouldn't have left his station- "
"Okay, I don't care! Someone was tossing this ship left and right, jostling my body, and I'm pretty sure a ghost just floated out of my eye, my eye, out of all things for some reason, and said, 'Oh, I must be dead.' It was so much rocking, that there is no such invention called a rocking chair anymore, because the meanings changed completely!"
I felt ready to go on a rampage. And I bet that I could, have not for the sweet and tender Sila Paige, whom I wanted to crush right now.
"If you'd want," she suggested, "I could take you to the top so you could talk to him? I would have to find the elevator, however... That might take a while." At the end of her sentence, she gave off a nervous chuckle, glancing off to the side. "There's another way, by the ladder in a room above us, but we'd have to find the stairs for that. Either way, I guess we're walking, if you're going to pursue after Eduardo..."
Honestly, I really didn't want to think right now, and making large decisions wasn't really my greatest trait. But from what I knew, the elevator was probably in a corner of some sort of room that was very hard to see from, and then the thought of it being completely dead was also a possibility; on the other hand, finding the stairs that led upwards would be a bit of a prick. I mean, if I remembered correctly, I fell down here from a hole in the floor! If at all, how would someone be able to find a strong staircase that won't collapse in the dark. Hm...
Sighing, I shrugged my shoulders and lolled my head, commenting, "If we're going on an adventure into the darkness, then just search for the elevator I guess." I watched as she snatched a map from the piles of paper, flipped on her light, and stood in the doorway, hand over the light switch, seemingly waiting for my movement.
Thereafter I stepped into the black void, Sila pressed down on the switch and passed me, heading down the hallway in a quiet, slow trot. After a while, she spoke up. "You wouldn't happen to know the history of the foundation of Gavaspia, would you?"
I slowed my step, almost having no idea what she was talking about, and shook my head slowly, also muttering a negative just so she could hear me. "Well," Sila proposed, "Since we have time to spare, would you like it if I told you that story?"
