This is it, guys. This is it.

The end to Amiss.

Did you all enjoy it? I hope you all did! I can't write endings or epilogues for shit, but I certainly had tons of fun writing in such a new style, where Faith really showed her feelings and sassiness, to where the reader could feel it too!

I have had both the greatest and most non-greatest trip ever from writing this book.

It's such a great story to me because it's just, I just see it as awesome! I love Faith, I love the characters, I love the plot, I love the development and ending - yet, at the same time, it's also been a stressful journey writing this because I've had to rewrite so much, I've had long periods of times where I just couldn't motivate myself to even touch the document, and where I just had no idea what could happen next to make it interesting.

But in the end, it's all been worth it. Because this is a work of art I'll surely never forget!

I took some "inspiration" from a few things, and there is a coincidence that happened funnily enough while I was writing this.

Has anybody played Alien:Isolation, or watched any of the Alien movies, with all the xenomorphs and Ripley? Well, that has helped in my book greatly!

After playing Alien:Isolation for myself (for about maybe 15 times already), I just loved the ship, and the adventure. The building design, how the ship looked, really helped me piece together all of the ships that Faith has been in, with the buttons and layers and floors and how it falls apart or is pieced together. And although the ships have probably been much bigger in the game (and the movies), Amanda Ripley still manages to travel from one to another.

And even if there aren't any xenomorphs in Amiss, I'm sure O'keal and Carissa acted as quite the threat for the girl ;)

But can you guess what the coincidence was I had while writing this?

... Take a second, cheater. Don't look ahead yet until you have no idea.

Well, it's that Undertale came out!

And what is Undertale known for?

Frisk, or 4th wall Sans.

And what are both of them known for?

Being able to reset the timelines.

I had originally thought of the plan for Amiss before the game came out; I had this awesome idea, where Faith has been through this same story over and over again, but failing at certain parts (remember when Faith was in the 1st ship (i think it's the first, i forgot lol), and there was a big jostle and turn to the side, and Faith was in a room and saw all of these "warpings" of reality, where it looked like the air bended and stuff? that's from earlier timelines, where she just happened to get caught there and eventually died there before resetting. this part was also basically inspired by Interstellar the movie. go watch it if you like space and really cool science)

Now, I had to go back and revise the epilogue just for you all to understand the concept of the timelines and resetting them, so hopefully you all understand!

But if not, then I have the perfect comparison, if you like Undertale that is.

So, imagine, Faith is Sans, O'keal is Frisk.

I'm saying O'keal is Frisk because he was the one who had the ability to reset and do it all over again. Just like Frisk, he probably wanted to see if he could go for a better ending, a happier way to end, but after so much failing he started to crumble and started experimenting what doing the opposite effect would do. He became more powerful, and started veering towards the bad end. He was basically being controlled by his own Chara.
