"Yeah. Goodnight to you too, Kurapika. I'll see you in the morning." I smile at him before heading toward my room. I hear his footsteps as they walk in the opposite direction. I open my door, closing it after I enter. I change into a pair of shorts and a tank top, then crawl under my sheets and flip the lamp off.
*The Next Morning*
After I wake up and stretch, I take a quick shower and change into my typical black shorts and white shirt. I slip on my boots and gently run my fingers through my soft curls. I pull on my fingerless boxing gloves, then open the door. After grabbing some coffee from the kitchen, I move into the lounge for the bodyguards.
"Good morning, Basho," I say to the muscular man happily, and he just grunts in response. I chuckle. "Not much of a morning person, huh? Oh, hi, Melody. Hey, Baise."
"Ara," Baise greets, her hands wrapped around her cup.
"Hello, Ara," Melody says, waving. I take a sip of coffee from my mug. "How did you sleep?"
"I slept well, thanks for asking." I smile kindly at her. Kurapika joins us a moment later, showing no signs of tiredness. I walk to him. "Did you get any sleep last night?" I ask quietly.
"A couple hours' worth," he responds. I roll my eyes and bump his shoulder.
"It's not like sleeping is going to kill you, ya know," I tell him. My phone suddenly buzzes, and I hand Kurapika my mug. "I'll be right back." I walk onto the balcony and pull the doors closed, taking my phone from my back pocket.
"Hello?" I answer, leaning on the ledge.
"Ara?" comes Killua's voice. "Is that you?"
"Oh, my gosh! Killua! How are you? Is Gon with you? Where's Leorio?" I ask excitedly. His laugh echoes through the phone.
"I've been with Gon since we split up seven months ago. We met up with Leorio this morning. Say hi, guys," he responds.
"Hey, Ara!" Gon shouts. I hear a sudden tussle, and a new voice comes on the phone.
"Hi, Ara," Leorio says.
"Leorio! Give me my phone!" Killua yells in the background. I laugh.
"In a minute," the older man responds. "How have you been, Ara?"
"I'm fine, Leorio. I got a job here in Yorknew with Kurapika."
"What? You're already here?" Another tussle, this time with Gon's voice ringing out.
"Are you really in Yorknew already, Ara?" the young boy asks.
"Yes, Gon, we both are. What are you guys up to?"
"Hm? Oh, we're planning on raising some money so we can buy a game at the auction!" he replies happily.
"Oh? What game?"
"Greed Island."
"Really? Why that one?"
"I think it might have a clue to where my dad might be," he answers. I smile softly.
"Well, I wish you the best of luck. I'll catch up with you guys when I have the chance, alright? I miss you guys," I tell him.
"We miss you, too," three voices call out. I laugh before hanging up. I go back inside, grabbing my mug from Kurapika.
"Who was it?" he asks.
"It was the guys. They're here, in Yorknew. Killua and Gon met up with Leorio this morning," I answer, taking a sip of my drink. "We should be able to meet up with them at some point, right?"
