Red is about to start his Junior year at Viridian High School. He has been homeschooled since he is very shy and didn't like being around other kids as a child. His mom thought it would be best that Red had gotten some social skills to be prepared for his Pokémon journey. Red decided his mother's idea was best and would be starting real school tomorrow.

Red's POV:

My alarm clock rang at 6:30 this morning. I woke up groggy and nervous for my first day of school, but a part of me was excited about it. I really wanted to make some actual friends instead of making up my own in stories I've read. I took a shower and put on my school uniform and raced Pikachu downstairs to eat breakfast. "Good morning, Red! Are you ready for your first day of school?" Mom asked. "I guess." I said quietly. I finished up my breakfast and said goodbye to her. I had to walk about 20 minutes to the outskirts of Viridian City to get to school. I could see the building coming up in the distance and I could feel my stomach tying into knots. I was hoping not to be an outcast or that weird kid everyone stays away from. I walked into the doors to find a few kids in the hallways. I looked for the front office to get my schedule and to find my 1st period. My first class was Pokémon statuses. This was gonna be an easy class since I know everything about it. The class was boring, but my teacher was pretty cool. 2nd period was Kanto's History. History has always been interesting to me, this one might be one of my favorites. I went on going to my classes until it was time for lunch. I found a tree outside and took out my sandwich. Pikachu was climbing the tree and bothering the Weedle and Caterpie. I was too busy watching him until 2 girls came to me and sat down. "Hi! My name is Yellow, and this is Blue, what's your name?" A girls with long blonde hair asked. "Um, Red." I weakly answered. "Nice to meet you! Why haven't I seen you here up until this year?" She asked. "I was homeschooled my whole life and decided to go to a real school this year." I replied. "This is your first time ever?" Blue asked. I nodded my head. "Have you made any friends yet?" Yellow asked. I shook my head. "We will be your friends! You're pretty cool!" Blue exclaimed. I was happy to have finally made my first friends.

The rest of the day went by slowly. I was about to start walking home until I heard Yellow and Blue calling for me. "Red! Wait up!" I turned my head to see them dragging a guy with long, red hair towards me, he looked irritated. "This is my brother, Silver, I think you two will be great friends!" Blue said. Silver and I shook hands. "We're going to a small diner, you wanna come with us?" Yellow asked. I smiled and nodded my head. The 4 of us walked in and ordered milkshakes. We were having a pleasant conversation until a boy came over to us and started talking to Silver. "Hey, Silvey. Whatcha doing here?" He asked. He had black hair and a backwards hat. With him was a boy with brown spiky hair and green eyes. I felt my face heat up when he looked at me. "Who's the dude with y'all?" He asked. "This is Red. He just started his first year of school." Blue explained. I felt closed in. I didn't like the attention I was getting. All I could do is give a weak smile and look away from them. "Nice to meet you, Red. My name is Gold, and this is Green. We have to go to the lab, we'll see you tomorrow." Gold said. They walked out of the diner and I felt okay again. What was this feeling? I kept feeling shivers up my spine when Green would look at me. "Silvey?" I asked Silver with a smirk. "Gold has decided to call me that. He's such a moron." Silver said obviously annoyed. "Hey, Red, what are you doing after school tomorrow?" Yellow asked. "Nothing, I'll probably just go home." I told her. "Well then you should come to my house after school! Blue and I were going to have a girls night, but you can come." Girls night? But I'm a boy? Boys are allowed to go to those kinds of things? What do girls do on girls night? I didn't want them to think I didn't like them, so I smiled and nodded my head. They squealed in happiness and started talking about what they are going to do. "Good luck, man." Silver said while finishing his drink. After our milkshakes, I headed back to Pallet Town to tell my mom about my first day of school.

I walked into the house to find Mom making dinner. "Hi, Red! How was school?" She asked. "It was good, my classes are really easy." I explained. "Did you make any friends?" "I did, 2 girls named Yellow and Blue and Blue's brother Silver." I explained. I didn't tell her about Gold and Green since I knew nothing about them. "That's wonderful, sweetie!" Mom said happily. "I'm actually invited to Yellow's house tomorrow for a girls night, what do they mean by that?" I asked. "A girls night? Girls typically give each other's make overs and talk about boys and gossip. Why are you going?" "I want them to still be friends with me and I really like them." I explained. "If you are going to go, then you need to bring Pikachu with you. Oh! I'll make my special cookies for you to send over!" Mom has always loved to cook or bake. She would cook for any occasion. I went upstairs after dinner and got ready for bed. "I don't have to be nervous about school anymore, isn't that great, Pikachu!" I said. "Pika!" He exclaimed. I took about my phone and read a quick chapter about the history of Kalos and went off to sleep.
