Red's POV:

I can't believe that I graduated from high school yesterday! This has been the best year of my life! I'm so glad that Mom made me go to school for Senior year. I should have gone throughout all of high school, but I guess it's better than nothing. My friends and I have told each other what we all plan on doing now that we are 18 and graduated. Blue said that she wants to be an entrepreneur and sell Pokemon gadgets throughout Kanto and train Pokemon at the same time. Yellow said she wants to become a Pokémon doctor since she enjoys helping out Pokemon. She told us that her Pikachu was wild and injured and nursed it back to health and decided to keep it. Gold said that he wanted to travel Johto and take on the gyms. He said after that he wants to run a nursery since he loves baby Pokemon and is the best at hatching eggs. Silver said he doesn't like Team Rocket and wants to take out their branch in Johto. Green said he wants to challenge the gyms and try to beat Lance. He said he'd like to become gym leader one day as well. I didn't know what I wanted to do until last week. I decided to become the champion of Kanto and have the strongest Pokémon team. Luckily, Green will be coming along with me. On Monday, we will all leave to pursue our dreams. I'm really gonna miss everyone, especially Yellow and Blue. They were my first real friends. We spent the entire weekend together at Yellow's house and just enjoyed each other's company. On Monday morning, we all said our heartfelt goodbyes. Yellow, Blue and Gold were crying uncontrollably the entire time. I couldn't help but cry with them. It was the saddest, yet happiest moment of my life. We all promised to meet up with each other once a month to catch up.

Green and I headed towards our houses to say good bye to our families. I headed inside my house to find Mom on the couch watching Good Morning, Kanto. She sat up with tears in her eyes and walked over towards me. "...Right. All boys leave home someday." She looked as if she couldn't talk anymore. I instantly started crying. Mom has been my best friend my entire life. We told each other everything. I feel really bad for leaving. She's going to be at the house all by herself. I need to promise myself that I'll call her everyday. "I'm going to miss you a lot, Red. Please be careful on your journey. Good luck, I love you." She said while sobbing. "Thanks Mom, I love you too." I said as I hugged her and kissed her on the cheek. I left my house with only my Pokémon and my back pack. This is going to be a journey of a life time, and I couldn't be happier to experience it with my soulmate.

I met up with Green at the entrance of Pallet Town so we could leave for our journey together. Green eventually joined me and we walked, hand in hand, towards Pewter City to get our first gym badges.
