Maxon's POV
I was so happy! My mom had agreed with me!! She had sided with me against my dad!!
I gave her a big hug when the TV flashed on.
I was confused. What's going on?! There wasn't supposed to be a broadcast today.
Then I saw America. She looked awful. She was tired, had bruises everywhere, had dried cuts, had actively bleeding cuts, and more.
Oh. My.
I almost started crying. Then the rebel walked onto the screen.
I wish I could just walk through the screen and punch him.
He smiled
"Hello again, it seems that you have not given us what we wanted. Because of this I just can not give you back America here," he said gesturing at her. "Instead you have left her with us. But don't worry we have been very friendly with her." He said with a smile as to more rebels walked on to the stage and started punching and kicking America.
"Now. Since you have not givin us what we want we must be forced to make the deal a little more serious. We are going to set a deadline."
This doesn't sound good.
"If you do not bring us what we need in 3 days, your America here will be, dead."
WHAT NO!! He can't do this to me. This is not fair! Surely my dad can't just leave her there to die!
My eyes went back to the video as a rebel picked up Americas arm and bent it. That wasn't an angle it was supposed to bend at. I heard a sickening crack through the screen and gasped.
When the rebel dropped her poor arm it fell limp in the handcuffs.
America was trying so hard to hide it but I could see how much it hurt her in her eyes.
My poor poor America.
By now tears were streaming down her face.
The rebel stepped forward.
"Now, give us what we want. Don't let what just happened to her arm, happen to her neck."
Then he slid a knife lightly across America's neck. She froze and the screen went black.
I couldn't hold it anymore. I burst into tears. My mom hugged me.
We decided to come up with a different way to get America back.
But it would be very hard.
And we had to get it done fast.
So that was like a mega short chapter sorry! But keep reading please!
