Hey everyone, or anyone who is left still reading this. I'm so sorry for such a delay in the update again. It's finally here for all those that were waiting! So in the last chapter I said that something major will happen, however, that was a lie. Please don't hold it against me as my past self didn't know it would be a lie until this very moment, since I usually come up with my ideas as I go along. So this chapter is quite different from what I had originally planned and may be quite uneventful, but it will reveal some thoughts of the various characters ~ this was inspired by Cherry_nerdz and so this chapter is also dedicated to her. Love ya girl!!!
Go check out her work, y'all!
Anyways, for those who are still reading, hope you enjoy and leave a comment please ~ Zana
Chapter twenty seven ~ Full Blast Of Feelings
Jett wasn't usually one to complain. Yes, he would try to speak some sense into those who he thought did wrong, but he would never go against their words nor would his emotions boil over beyond control. That's how he felt that minute; he wanted to break the world and everything within it but specifically Darren.
He didn't understand Eva's mercy for him. He's done nothing but create problems for them since he got here and she's consistently taking Darren's side. Did he mean nothing to her that she would completely disregard his feelings and go along with someone who popped out of nowhere after years?
Jett had given up everything for her, his dreams and more, to protect her and this is what he gets for it?
He paced an empty dark room of an abandoned house in the middle of the forest with the living dead surrounding the house just in case of an attack. The others were in another room somewhere, planning their next move while Jett needed space, away from them all.
It was all getting too much for him; one moment things were fine, things were going without a trace of danger and the next, they were the target of highly powerful creatures. He didn't know how things had gotten so complicated, how he had gotten himself into all this. He could have easily avoided it all and yet he couldn't. He would risk his life for Eva ten times over, but should he?
He froze as the doorknob of the room rattled left to right and watched as the door was pushed open, revealing the shadow of a little boy: Max.
Jett instantly calmed when Max came into view and smiled at him, even though he wouldn't be able to see it without the lights on. He went in search for the light switch and once it was found made his way over to Max.
The room was completely empty aside from a few cobwebs and insects which took residency of the place. Jett bent down in front of Max, leaning on one leg.
"What's the matter buddy?" He asked with concern and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"I've been looking for you! I opened fifty begillion rooms. Everyone else is busy and won't listen to me!" Max pouted, leaning into Jett with the requirement of comfort.
"Yes, they're busy, aren't they?" He grumbled resentfully, before continuing with a smile, "And fifty begillion? There are only about six rooms in this house."
"Can I tell you a secret?" Max leaned even closer to Jett as if he was in for a hug but paused as his lips touched Jett's right ear. "I saw my mummy outside."
"What, where?" Jett almost jumped out of his embrace. "Show me."
Max waited until Jett stood up and wrapped his hand around his pointing finger before dragging him over to the curtained window. He gestured for Jett to pull them open and reluctantly he did, attempting to avoid the creepy crawlies hanging on. Max, then, commanded to be picked up and once his wishes were obeyed, he pointed outside.
