Chapter One: Meet the clean freak

Grace looked around her mostly empty apartment. well, it had furniture, sure, and everything a gal would need to live in her third story complex, but that wasn't what she meant. what she meant was, is that, it's felt so empty since the bubbly, cheerful Kimberly wasn't there to light up the room with her smile anymore.

Kimberly had moved all the way to New York City, which is a long way from Dallas, Texas. She had gotten the job of her dreams, just a few months ago, and was too busy to talk much. Grace herself was still trying to get in on interior decorator, but it was a tuffy to get into.

she knew she had to get a new roommate soon, she was having a little trouble with the rent, and she kind of missed having someone there to talk to. it, of course, didn't matter the gender, she just wanted someone who was nice and friendly.

Okay, she'll admit it.
She's lonely.

Not in the sense of wanting to date someone, heavens no, she was far too busy to mess with any of that. She just wanted someone she could hang out with. simple. as. that.

So she got dressed, and went out. She stopped by to get some groceries, and paid for her ad to get in the paper.

And then she waited.

It surprisingly took longer than expected for a reply, which she was which she was unsure as to what to make of that... When she heard the ping on her laptop she proceeded toward her neat desk, she was already ready for bed at this time at night, and tired from a long day at the diner she worked at.

When she looked into it, the email was well written.

The perfectionist was, of course, excited about it.

Dear Grace,

I've seen your add in the paper, and I am very interested in sharing an apartment with you. It just so happened I have recently moved here from a small town, and I was looking for a cozy apartment while i attend college, but my wages aren't high enough with the job I have to get my own place.

respectfully,
Ally

To say she was excited was an understatement. At least if you ask her surrounding neighbors, whom had to bear her squealing madness.

regardless, she happily sent a reply, telling 'Ally' to come on by. If she hadn't gotten any other replies until now, she doubted she'd get any more. Plus she seemed pretty nice, she'd have to ask what small town she was from when she came.

It didn't take long for Ally to respond to her reply, saying she'd be there in the morning, at 10:00 am. luckily the house was already in perfect order, and everything had recently been cleaned. She set her alarm for 6:00 am and hit the hay shortly afterwards.

Tomorrow she was going to meet her, hopefully, new roommate.
That thought alone brought a smile to her face as she drifted into dream land.
