You Never Loved Me

They'd been watching the house for a good three hours now and it seemed to have been a waste of time, nothing was gonna happen.

The entire time Adam could feel Kevin glaring at him, "What?" He finally called him out, though he had a good idea of what was up. He was pretty sure it had to do with Burgess. Yep, that's what he was calling her now...she had pulled that shit when they first broke up.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Kevin put the car in gear and headed back towards the district, the call had come over the radio to shut it down.

"That chick you brought to Molly's the other night..."

"Candice?" Adam interjected, "What about her?"

Kevin nodded, "Yeah her. You two serious?"

Adam curled his lip and cocked his head to the side, "Don't know...never really thought about it..just having a good time." He picked at the peeling armrest. "Why?"

"Curious. You hadn't mentioned her much...then you bring her to Molly's...seems suspicious." Kevin looked over at him, "Almost like you're throwing it in Kim's face on purpose."

That was ballsy, Adam just shook his head, "Maybe."

Everything in him was telling him to back off..to let it go. He just couldn't stop himself...he felt a bit like a runaway train..he was powerless to stop himself.

"Adam...hey." Kim forced a smile when Adam and the gorgeous brunette joined the group.

Adam barely glanced in her direction, he kept his hand planted on Candice's hip and he nuzzled her neck, he could just make Kim out in his peripheral vision..she was obviously uncomfortable. Adam liked that he was making her uncomfortable, he continued  kissing Candice roughly, his hands roaming all over her.

Candice pushed at his chest with her palms, "Wow...down boy." She smirked, wiping the lipstick from the corner of Adam's mouth, "Hi..you must be Burgess...right?" She extended her hand to Kim.

Really? Kim couldn't believe what was going on, "Yea..Kim...Kim Burgess." She glared at Adam who matched her stare with one of his own. Yep, this was gonna get ugly.

"Don't you think you acted like a dick the other night?" Kevin was still shocked by his buddy's behavior.

"I don't think so." Adam replied, it was a bullshit answer. He really didn't give a fuck though.

"It was cold bro, you could've been a little friendlier with the introduction..no?" Kevin took his eyes off the road briefly to look at Adam. "Maybe not acted like a horny teenager who was about to get laid for the first time. Fuck, man. Kim was clueless, she had.."

There it was. What a hypocrite, he was being. Adam was disgusted. He talked over Kevin, "I don't know...I think I handled better than she did...and I wasn't fucking my partner...or in a crowded courtroom..."

Kevin turned to say something to him and thought better of it, "Never mind...man. Forget it.."

Adam shifted in his seat, "What?"
