Chapter 11: Well... This is Awkward...

We got to Città dell'amore, the restaurant, and were lead to our table by the Hostess.

***A little bit later***

"So.. Kate... " I said awkwardly, clearing my throat.

"Yes?" She replied, looking up from her menu.

"Uhh...What's your favorite italian food?"

"Umm... Noodles...?" She answered, slightly confused.

The waiter came to take our food orders, saving us from the awkward conversation.

"Hello, what'll you guys have for dinner this evening?"

"I'll have the Fettuccini Alfredo, thank you." I responded, handing the waiter my menu.

"And I'll have the Linguini, thanks." She smiled, giving him her menu.

"I'll go put in your orders right now."

"So..." She began, clearing her throat. "For the Music Video...What were you thinking about for your character?"

"I don't really know" I replied.

"Well, maybe we could have the music video be like a Famous Romance thing? For each solo, each boy could have their own famous romance!" Her eyes suddenly lit up. "You could have Romeo and Juliet, and throw rocks at some girl's window."

"That's an incredible idea! I love it!" I exlaimed.

"Do you think the boys would go for it?" Kate asked.

"I think they will." I replied.

"So are you guys always like that?" She questioned curiously.

I laughed a little before answering: "Yes. They actually were plotting to get us on this date."

"Wait, this is a date?" Katie asked, suddenly serious.

"Uh. Well, umm." I stammered, face growing red. "Y-yeah."

"Relax, I'm kidding." She giggled, "Jojo was pushing me to go on this date too. I guess their plan worked."

I blew air out of my mouth, brushing my hair back in relief. "You got me for a second there."

"I'm sorry, I couldn't resist."

"Fettuccini Alfredo?" The waiter interrupted, holding out the dish.

I raised my hand slightly as he set it in front of me. "And the Linguini?" He asked looking at Kate.

"Yes, thank you." She replied as he set the plate in front of her.

"Bonne Appetite." He said smiling, before walking away.

***after dinner***

After paying the check we walked out of the restaurant, laughing and talking.

"So did you have fun tonight?" I asked nervously.

"I had so much fun, I'd love to do it again." She answered, smiling and blushing slightly.

"Ya know, the night's not over yet.." I said, grinning "What about some ice cream?"

"Well I do enjoy the occasional ice cream..." She replied, giggling.

"Then let's go!" I exclaimed as I slid my hand into hers.

["And that kids is the first date I had with your mother. It was nerve-racking and awkward, but in the end it was fun and exciting. At the end of the night, when I dropped her off at her flat, she kissed me on the cheek, which was the perfect end to one of the best nights of my life." I said, smiling at my beautiful wife as she laid her head on my shoulder.

"Aww" cooed Macie, just as her little brothers TJ and Finn cried "EW!"

Kate laughed and kissed me on the cheek before getting up, "Okay guys, it's time for dinner. Let's go. Dad will tell more of the story after we eat."]
