Chapter 5: Crazy Best Friend

When I walked through the door to my apartment, I tried to hold back my laughter as I saw my crazy best friend, JoJo, singing and dancing to Mamma Mia! while making brownies in the kitchen. I turned down the volume on the movie so that I could actually hear.

"Kate!" She exclaimed walking through the strings of beads that dangled from the kitchen doorway, "What are you doing home?"

My smile faltered, remembering what happened earlier. "I got fired."

JoJo rushed to our small couch and paused the movie. She widened her eyes in shock, "WHAT? What happened?"

I shrugged, walked over to the couch in the living room and sat down next to her. I glared at the paint chip decorated wall before explaining. "Niall tripped and bumped into me, and because I didn't see him, I jumped... and dropped a camera. And...the camera broke."

She started laughing, "Sucks to suck, did you at least get his number?"

I gaped at her, grabbed a pillow, and threw it, hitting her face. "Jourdyn! I finally get the chance to help direct a REAL music video, only for it to be ruined by some clumsy Irish pop star! I was the perfect assistant! I didn't scream or fan girl when I met One Direction, I listened to him, ran his errands, and I stayed focused! I mean, seriously, the stupid director didn't give me a chance to explain myself! He just fired me. Now how am I going to get experience in directing?"

She looked at me for a few moments and said "No seriously, Did you get his number?"
