Chapter 2

Kurapika:

A short ride, about four hours, and when we reach Whale Island Kyra is waiting for us at the port. After we get off the boat she takes us to a small diner for lunch. "So what is going on, in your letter you sounded a little bit paniced?" I ask.

"Well to be honest, i dont even know what happened." She admits. "I dont know Gon well enough to be able to judge, but i have to say i have never seen him like this. Ms. Mito is worried, it is like his whole demeanor changed overnight."

"I didnt think it was possible for him to get worse." Milly voices.

"What? No-no, i thinik you misunderstand." Kyra says in confusion. "I have never seen him this happy!" She exclaims.

"W-what do you mean?" I ask in shock.

"Two days ago when he came down for breakfast, he had a smile on his face! And instead of just eating a few bites, he ate two plates! And then after that, he took his fishing pole with him to the lake and he came back with a basket full of fish!" She explains excitedly.

"I dotn understand, he just woke up one day and strted acting like nothing ever happened?" i ask.

"Yes. When i asked him what had gotten into him he said he couldnt tell anyone but you." She says. Then her expression got a lot more serious. "But we are all worried. Who knows what might have caused this turn around. He may be having a complete mental collapse."

After a long silence i say, "Well one thing is for sure, i need to get to him and figure out what is on his mind." They both agree. We quickly finish our lunch then head for the house. We run the whole way there and make it late in the night.

We all tip toe into the house and Ms. Mito gets some blankets for me and Milly to sleep in the living room. She said that Gon was already in bed so i figure let him sleep and we can talk in the morning. Being back on Whale Island and sleeping in this house; i feel very tranquil. When i wake up Ms. Mito is already making breakfast and Kyra is helping her.

They both have smiles on there faces as they work. "Where is Gon?" i ask them.

Ms. Mito's face is beaming with joy as she replies, "He went over to the hill, he said he would wait for you there Kurapika."

At opnce i made my way to the hill. As i come into the clearing i see Gon sitting there in the distance. It is a beautiful view. The sun is rising, the water is glittering, and the soft breezes makes waves through the grass. Gon seems to be absorbed in his surrounding, he doesnt seem to notice me approaching him.

"Um... Hey Gon." is all i can think to say.

"I cant believe it took me so long," He begins.

"So long for what?" i ask cautiously.

"I have wasted so much time and it is such a simple answer..."

"Answe to what?" i ask again.

"If i were there and he were here, what would he do?"

"I'm not sure what ou are talking about?"

"If i were, for whatever reason, trapped in a similar situation as Killua and i left him behind; what would he do?" Gon repeats.

"I have no idea." I admit.

"I do, i know what he would do. I know because he is my friends, the best friends i have ever had. He may have been through a lot in the last year and he may have changed some, but deep down he will always be Killua."
