Janice woke up, she was leaning on Percy but poppy had his arms around her. His arms kept her warm and snug. She looked up at him. He was still asleep. She didn't wanna wake him up. So she sat and thought, 'That was the only good dream I've had since before Christmas.'
It was January now, the ship hadn't celebrated the fact it was a new year, 1973, but instead just tried to push along. She hoped poppy wasn't hiding his sadness, after losing his brother. She wanted the best for him, after all he was her only father figure.
Her thoughts were interrupted again by Percy moving around.
She looked up at him and he rubbed his eyes, looking over at the two.
Percy put his finger to his lips and picked her up, walking to the front of the ship.
"Good morning, Janice." He smiled as he set her down.
"Morning percy." She giggled.
"Did you Sleep well last night? You must have, you were out like a light."
Janice smiled and nodded. "Yeah, how about you?"
"Yeah it was alright." Percy nodded. "But anyway, what would you like to do today?"
Janice looked up at the sky. "Hmm... we could always just play in the snow."
(They stay on land every night and then sail In the morning)
Percy nods. "Sounds good..." he got out and helped Janice after him.
Janice loved hanging out with Percy. He was the big brother she never had.
She looked over at the cave. Skin takers. She slowly backed away until she bumped into Percy.
Percy put a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry about it Janice. I'm here."
They both turned around and started walking, but poppys voice echoed,
"PERCIVAL! JANICE!" Poppy jumped down and ran after them.
Janice turned and looked up at poppy and he kneeled down to her.
"Are you okay, lass?" He put a hand on her shoulder and she nodded.
"As long as you are." She hugged him and he picked her up.
"Are you alright as well, Percival?"
Percy nodded and blushed. He was embarrassed by the name.
Janice shivered and poppy walked to the ship, Percy following behind.
When they got on the ship poppy put Janice's yellow coat on her and Percy made hot coco for him and janice, rum for poppy.
He brought it to them and They sat in a circle.
Janice grabbed the doll, still inside the box. She placed it down in the empty space where Milo would have sat.
She then leaned on Percy and h rubbed her back. "It's okay. Let's just hope for more good days to come..."
