Throughout the night, Milo was able to find some little treasures on their ship. He found beautiful jewels. He found coins and chains, all the stuff that excited him. Once he had pocketed about everything his could find, he looked up ahead to see if they were any closer. There he found exactly what he was looking for. Not abandoned beauties on a ship, but an island. The treasure he'd been looking for. He turned to see Janice once again.
"Janice, Janice, wake up." He gently held her shoulder.
The small girl whimpered, rubbing her eyes and blinking as her sight adjusted. "What do you want now?" She looked around. The sun was just beginning to rise, although the sky was dark.
"We're here! There's the island!" Milo pointed ahead. Janice looked. It wasn't too big, it had a couple trees scattered around. Some old, yet pretty houses were there. Nobody was in them.
"It looks familiar..." she stood and walked to the front.
"We've gone before. Just... a different route." He shrugged. "Anyway, as soon as we're there we can eat. And then we can watch for our real ship passing by."
Janice nodded, content as she watched the island slowly grew closer.Once the ship reached the island, Milo helped Janice climb out. They both walked a little while, getting their legs back to being used to the land. They found a good spot where they could see far off into the ocean, with a couple of rocks to sit on. They finished the day there. They ate, they rested, and they walked along the shore. They just had to wait. Wait to see the waves crashing toward the island. To see the big smiling face of the ship they love. To put Poppy at ease, to bring Percy joy. The most agonizing wait.
