DIANNA POV:

I was dreaming of a boy with dark skin and a girl with blond hair, caucasian skin and bright blue eyes. They seemed important, but I have no idea why. They were battling some monsters but the monsters weren't Greek or roman. I was sure I recognized some from when we did a lesson on ancient Egypt. When I woke up I was still in the Artemis cabin. I remembered Percy and Chiron talking about Egyptians. I wonder if it has anything to do with my dream. I made a mental note to tell them at breakfast.

I got up to get dressed and went to the closet. Inside there were silver tank tops and grey camo pants. There were also a few pairs of grey jeans and my one camp half-blood shirt. I put on the tank top and camo pants. They were comfortable. I walked out of the cabin and headed to the dining pavilion. I went and sat alone at the Artemis table. I went about my schedule that had been explained to me. All of the activities were weird but fun. Just before lunch a horn sounded. Everyone looked up to the hill and saw about twenty girls in silver camo. I ran up to meet them. The girl leading them looked no older than twelve. She had the same auburn hair and silver eyes as me so I guessed she was Artemis, my mother. Oh my gods it's my mom what do I say? What do I do? Should I bow or curtsy? I decided on kneeling.

"Rise my daughter." When I looked up I saw a woman looking down at me. I smiled at her and she actually smiled back. Percy and Annabeth came up the hill.

"Lady Artemis," Percy said smiling like crazy.

"Lord Perseus" She said matching his mischievous smile. Then a girl on her right side looked at him and said,

"What no hug for your cousins?"

The girl wore the normal camo pants of the hunters, but instead of a tank top she wore a death to Barbie t-shirt. She also had a silver circlet on her spiky black hair. I figured she was Thalia, the girl in the photos that Percy had been talking about. A series of hugs went around the four. I was so confused. I mean didn't Artemis hate boys? Yet here she was hugging Percy.

"Thalia this is Diana. Daughter of Artemis." The girls didn't look surprised. I guess my mom explained it to them. Thalia rushed over and started talking to me in a rapid fire way. All I got out of it was that she was going to be the fun aunt and that we could go shopping and tell each other secrets. My guess is that she was excited about having a niece. Which was kinda creepy, seeing as she looked fifteen. The rest of the girls surrounded me. We just talked while the three gods stood off to the side.

"Hunters! Fall in!" They ran and formed two lines which I guess showed who had seniority. Thalia and a girl phoebe, I think her name was, were leading the two lines. I walked beside Percy and Annabeth as we headed down the hill. As they walked the hunters glared at the campers. Well, mostly the male campers. Percy and Annabeth were holding hands, in fact I don't think i have seen them apart since we got to camp. They must really love each other, it was obvious with the way they look at each other. I had always hated seeing people in love. After my mom left my dad and I, my father went to alcohol. He quickly went to drugs as well and it wasn't long before I was coming home to my dad drunk and high. He turned abusive. Ever since I have not known love. Seeing other people in love just made me jealous. But now I had hope. I met my mom and Percy is almost like a big brother. I have a bunch of sisters in the hunters. Maybe now I could enjoy life.

ARTEMIS POV:

Oh my daughter is beautiful! I must not let Aphrodite get a hold of her, she would go ballistic. However there was the new prophecy and she is definitely the forbidden child. I have given a terrible fate to my daughter, just because I had been foolish enough to fall for a mortal. I had watched as my daughter had been beaten, because my father would not let me interfere. I can't believe I thought that a man could be different. The only good men are Percy Jackson and Nico di Angelo. Okay and maybe Orion but that was millennia ago.

DIANA POV:

I spent the rest of the day with the hunters. They were so awesome! By the end of the campfire I knew everyone's names. As we filed back to the cabin my mother pulled me to the side.

"Diana, do you want to join the hunters?" The question caught me by surprise, but I knew the answer.

"I would love that, Mother." I said sincerely. She told me what to say.

"I pledge myself to the goddess Artemis. I turn my back on the company of men, accept eternal maidenhood, and join the hunt." I looked at her.

"I accept" she said hugging me. Suddenly felt stronger. It seemed as though time was almost going slower around me. So this is what immortality feels like, I thought to myself. We walked back to the cabin. Just like last night it was glowing. It looked like it was soaking in the moonlight. As we walked in I was surrounded. They all congratulated me on joining. For the first time in forever, it felt as though I was part of a family.
