POV Hannah

It's been a few weeks since that new kid arrived, I still haven't seen him yet. Right now it's Day 1 period 3. So I'm in my bio class, the teachers talking about what bacteria looks like, then my phone goes off in class. I answer it because it's my mom, and she only calls me in the middle of class if it's an emergency. "Ms.Frost put your phone away." the teacher said but I ignored her. "Hello, Mom is everything alright?" I asked.

"Hannah...it's your f-f-fa-father... he's dead."Then all I hear'd was sobbing. What? He's dead, he can't be dead No he's not. He'll be at home after school, and ask how my day was.....But I know it, it's true, I'm just trying to not think about it. The fact that I won't see my father again, his smile, his laughter. He's gone. My phone clatters to the floor, and the whole class looks at me, they see I'm crying.

"Ms.Frost, please pick up your phone and stop disrupting class." the teacher says. When I don't do anything or move a classmate asks me the question I'm dreading to hear. "What's wrong?" What's wrong. What is wrong, everything. My dad is dead, not coming back. Someone killed him. That's what I want to scream at the girl, even though she doesn't deserve it. All I manage is "he's dead." I say it barely above a whisper.

"Who?" the girl asks. I think her name is Vanessa, she's in my art class. "M-my dad." I reply but I'm not paying attention to anything.I hear a faint gasp come from the girl. "Ms. Hannah has a family emergency can she leave please." the girl asks. "What is the emergency, can Ms.Frost tell me herself?" the teacher asks.

"I don't think that's a good idea Ms." the girl replies. "Then can you tell me what's wrong with her" the teacher demands "Well um..." the girl looks at me. "Her mom called to tell her that her dad's dead." she says in a rush. "What?" the teacher asks. "Her dad's dead." the girl says louder. The whole class gasps, and the teachers beet red. The class looks sad and angry, because the teacher forced such sad news out of a student.
