Claire's POV

As soon as the bell rang, I got out of the room as fast as I could and got to the lunch room. I saw Cooper at our table we always sat at last year and years before that. I walked to him and sat down across form him when I got to the table. Soon after I arrived, Zackaria came and sat down beside me. Zackaria was a tallish guy with blonde hair. He was our age and he never really talked to anyone much. He usually kept to himself. He was in the pack and only really talked to Saunders when he needed to. He was entered into the pack soon after me. Cooper looked behind me and groaned. Zackaria and I looked behind to see Dani, Marcus, and Andrew enter the cafeteria. Dani and Marcus were hand in hand as her heels clicked against the concrete floor. They were a couple of Airgid's disciples, and Andrew was his son. I rolled my eyes and turned around.

"Ignore them," I pulled my bag across my shoulders and set it on the opposite side away from Zackaria. He turned around and looked at me and Coop.

"They're coming this way," he quickly said. I shifted in my seat and turned around to face them. Andrew hovered above me. "Just leave her alone," Zacharia spoke up.

"No I want to hear what he has to say," I spoke as I stood up. Andrew backed up a little.

"You killed my uncle," was all he said.

I chuckled, "And? He almost killed me and Cooper. I had to. I had no choice."

"You could've just died," he shrugged. "Like you were meant to in the first place."

"Shut up. You have no idea what you're talking about. If I was meant to die, I'd be dead by now."

"Well, you're not exactly alive, you're just a mutt," he chuckled probably feeling proud he came up with an actual comeback. My blood was boiling at this moment. I clenched my fists and I was about to punch him when the Australian came up from behind Andrew.

"Leave her alone, mate," he demanded. I gave him a look of confusion. Andrew turned around swiftly to look him in the eyes.

"Okay, you don't know what you're getting yourself into, kid. Just stay out of this," Andrew spoke out to him. With that, Andrew and the 'lovely couple' were gone.

"Thank you,' I said to the boy and he just smiled at me and walked away. 'Wait, what's your name, Australia?"

"Luke."

I turned around and sat down where I was. I looked at the boys. They looked shocked. I looked back at them with a confused look. "What?"

"Nothing," Cooper answered, "it's just that if one of us would've stepped in, you would've kicked our asses. You even thanked the guy."

"And asked for his name," Zackaria added.

The rest of the day I just sat through my classes not really paying attention. I was caught up thinking about Luke. I don't know what it was about him, I just couldn't get him out of my head.

I was standing at my locker when Cooper walked up behind me. In attempt to scare me, he poked my sides. I jumped around and punched his arm. He chuckled and walked around me to his locker.

"So that uh Australian kid was asking about you in my English class. He asked what your name was and why Andrew was...uh talking to you," he looked at me as he opened his locker.

I looked at him with a confused look. "Why was he asking about me?"

"I think he likes you," he shut his locker and leaned against it waiting for me. He smirked at me.
