Hi all, here is chapter 7 of wedding day revenge. I would like to give a little warning that this chapter does involve some "lemony" activity. I don't believe it is up to restricted level but I am more than happy to change it, if anyone wishes me to. I do hope you enjoy the chapter and please let me know what you think. Thanks guys!
I stared directly into the endless beauty of Alex’s blue eyes. They were a shade of light blue which I felt myself falling into. It was hard to admit how much I was drawn to the guy. But I had explained it all; this was just lust. Something inside me made me think that it would be nice to get caught up in such a dangerous game but I knew better.
“Alex, let’s just drop this, shall we?” I said in hopes my voice sounded convincing. I wasn’t sure who I needed to reassure more, the dazzling man in from of me or myself. His gaze dropped to my lips and I could feel him move closer, his hot breath on my skin.
“Do you really want me to go?”
“It’s better…this way…” now I was losing my ability to breathe and my thought-processes were slowing down. Everything was slowing down for that matter. Alex’s hands inched up my now shivering arms and halted at my collarbone. I was freezing from the water but his touch was sending fire through to my very core. I attempted to ignore the throbbing between my thighs and inhaled deeply.
“You didn’t answer my question…Kay.” His voice was only a murmur. “You know I find you incredibly sexy when you’re wet.” This was a feathering caress and I knew I was gone. I lunged for his lips with the need I’d been trying to hide ever since I met him. My hands flew to his hair, tangling my fingers into the strands of his chestnut brown which was now dark from the water. He pressed me against him, almost slamming my breasts into his chest. We hungrily devoured each other’s mouths, unable to get enough of each other. My desire for him, so strong, I bite down on his tongue until I faintly tasted blood. His hands roamed my body and roughly shoved me against the pool’s edge. It was sharp and I felt pain scrape through my back but at that moment nothing mattered. All I needed was him. His fingers traced around my body to cup my bra-covered breasts. My nails dug into his bare back as he began rubbing his thumbs gently over each of my over-sensitive peaks. The pink lace of my bra was probably incredibly see-through by now and giving him exactly what he wanted. He wretched his mouth from mine and began suckling down my jaw to my neck and to the valley between my heaving breasts. I ached my back to allow him better access. I could feel him reaching for the clasp of my bra. My god, was I really going to let this happen? Was I really thinking of doing it with Alex in a hotel swimming pool?
I grabbed his wrists and brought them to my lips, placing a kiss on both.
“I can’t.” I whispered the words but it was like I shouted them. He breathed deeply and moved in to kiss me again.
“I’ll wait.” He mumbled as he nibbled on my lower lip. The last shred of reasoning I had was fading into the background, fast. I opened my mouth granting his tongue entrance. He tasted like cinnamon and ash. Everywhere he touched me burnt from the collision of skin. Fire pumped through my veins even as I shivered from the cold. “You’re so beautiful.” His voice was a whisper in the darkness. I wanted to hear him again. I wanted him to touch everywhere and hold me close. As if reading my thoughts, Alex pulled me in and wrapped his arms around my waist securely. The protection his aura gave off made me feel safer and cherish more than I ever had in my entire life. How was it possible to feel so much for a man I had just met? This lust was going to be a problem. I was walking a dangerous tightrope but at that moment I felt like I was running.
“Alex…” I tore my mouth away and gasped for air. My breathing was ragged as his and I leaned against his chest, feeling his hammering heartbeat beneath my fingertips. The knowledge that I had a similar effect on him made a smile curl at my lips. “What do we do now?”
“You got a room?” He smirked as a banging sounded down the hall. It could have been Mads, coming to check on me or a cleaner wanting to finish their shift or a drunken couple stumbling to their room. The thought of being one of those couples that acted like savage, almost moaning to rip each other’s’ clothes off, made me stiffen. He must have felt my reaction as he loosened his grip but only slightly. “Kay…”
“I better go.”
After awkwardly pulling on my clothes over my wet underwear I ran to my room, not bothering to stop and wait for Alex. He wasn’t going to follow me and the thought made my chest hurt. There was nothing between us but temporary desire. It would be gone soon enough and so would I. I needed to get my head focused on the task at hand and not imaging how easily the fireman had made me limp in his strong arms. I stood in the shower, changing the temperature from hot to cold and back again every few minutes. I just couldn’t work out what my body wanted. I attempted to ignore my body’s cries as I slipped into my bed, careful not to wait Mads, what I didn’t need was to explain why I was flushed and perky.
Alex’s stupid words wandered into my dreams as I toss and turned in what felt like a hot flush. I tried not to but every time I closed my eyes I imagined him there, dripping from the pool water and looking as God-like as ever. Oh why did I have to meet him? Why did I have to feel so reckless around him and lose all of my senses? I was older than him and meant to be the responsible adult. What felt like hours later, I fell into a short and frustrated sleep. The last thing I remembered was seeing the sun rising through the cracks in the window blinds.
“Kay? You alright, you look like hell.” Mads said with concern between mouthfuls of her ginormous breakfast. The hotel offered a buffet breakfast and my best friend and I were not going to miss out on pigging out. It was a girls road trip after all, no one eats healthy. Walking downstairs I had instantly lost my appetite when I saw a young man walk towards the pool in swimmers. Memories of the previous night flooded back to the front of my subconscious.
“Mads, something happened last night.” I nearly didn’t recognise my own voice but from the look she gave me, I had definitely spoken.
“What happened?”
“Well, you remember…”
“Alex!” Mads called across the room in disbelief. I spun in my chair to stare directly into the blue eyes of the subject of my current conversation. I guessed my friend had waved him over as he took a step forward and then hesitated. I shrugged a shoulder to let him know that if he wanted to join, he could. I wasn’t about to try and make things more awkward. Who knew, maybe we could put the whole thing behind us.
All ideas of moving on from the things I experienced last night vanished and soon as he sat down beside me at the tiny table. He had his own plate of food piled up with a hot and greasy breakfast. Apparently, I was the only one without a desire to eat. A sinking feeling hit my stomach as the thought that last night hadn’t affected him in the same way. Why did it matter if he felt the same? I was a grown woman who was going to move past this stage in my life. My hormones would probably have gone crazy for any guy in Alex’s position. There was nothing special between us. I was just mourning in an unusual way. An extremely unusual way. I needed to make this stop. We just had to go our separate ways and I needed to hunt down Dick. That was what I was going to do. And Alex wasn’t in that picture or future. Or so I thought, until I tuned into the conversation my best friend and the man in question were having.
