Prologue:
Maddie's POV
"Shut up!"I screamed and shut the door to my bedroom.
John was making fun of me again, I really don't enjoy being in this place.
Hey, I'm Maddiline. My nickname is Maddie and I'm seventeen years old.
--2 hours later--
"Amy! I'm going for a walk! Be back soon!"I yelled and went out the front door with my coat and phone.
I started walking toward Sarah's a small carry out in town. On my way, I bumped into a curly haired boy.
"I'm so sorry!" I said, looking up.
"My bad."The curly haired boy smiled at me, I took it as a cue to start walking away.
At Sarah's, I bought a candy bar and Gatorade, said hi to the nice counter lady, Gina, and was on my way once
more.
At the orphanage, I ran to the kitchen, threw away my candy wrapper and took the stairs two at a time to my room. In my room, I took off my jeans and threw on sweats instead. Dressing for comfort.
"Maddiline!" I heard my name called through the music coming out of my earbuds.
I took off down the stairs to see what she wanted so I could get back to the music.
"Maddie, these boys wants to adopt you." And standing before me was the curly haired boy and four strangers.
