Name: Calliope Torrance
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Appearance: Even from a young age, Calliope has always had a love for glitter, which is reflected in every aspect of her clothing style. From her hair and makeup, to her extravagant ball gowns and high heels, there is glitter everywhere. She is short, exactly 5 feet tall, but her seven inch heels make up for a lot of that. Her figure is very curvy, a feature she is proud of. Her skin is a warm shade of peaches-and-cream, with artifically rosey cheeks. Her long hair, which hangs in springy ringlets to her lower back, is permanently dyed a vibrant shade of royal purple. When she was a young girl just beginning her gamemaking career, she used to love experimenting with different hair colors, but now that she is a grown woman, she decided it was time to settle with one color. Her eyes are always a subject of discussion in the Capitol: one is lavender, the other is sky-blue.
Personality: Calliope is usually bubbly and cheerful, though there is always a hint of malice underneath. She is extremely self-centered and never gives much thought to anyone's opinion or feelings other than her own, not even her own husband's. She is very competitive and will hold grudges over the most simple things. She is used to being pampered and spoiled, and holds herself above everyone else. The only person she cares about more than herself is her first love, who she holds to god-like standards and practically worships, despite the fact thar he died without returning her feelings, and more than likely saw her as a nuisance rather than a love interest. Calliope cares for her husband, though she sees him as more of a loyal pet than anything else.
History: Calliope was an only child, born to Persephone and Bastille Carthage. As one would expect an only child from a wealthy Capitol family to be, Calliope was spoiled and treated like a princess, given everything she asked for. At only 15 years old, Calliope volunteered for the Games. She entered the arena, won over the crowd, and thanks to her impressive knowledge of Muttations, won the Games. The very next year, she began her career as a Gamemaker, the youngest ever, working as a Gamemaker-in-training and Master of Ceremonies under the deadly Tirinay Twins. It was in Calliope's first year of Gamemaking that she met and fell deeply in love with Adrik Sanders, the male tribute from District Seven, who quite obviously did not return her feelings. Despite Adrik's blatant disinterest in her, Calliope was heartbroken when he died, as she was convinced that they would be married. She continued to work under the twins until she met and married Glint Torrance, a man who was also training to become a Gamemaker. Although Calliope could never feel for Glint the way she did, and still does, feel for Adrik, she keeps him around so she doesn't become too lonely. Calliope hopes to one day become Head Gamemaker and run the Games along side her husband.
Reason for Participation: She wants to prove that she's capable of being Head Gamemaker. She's won the Games before, it couldn't be too hard for her to do it again, right? And if she does die, she'll be going the same way her beloved Adrik did, and that doesn't seem all that bad to her.
Tribute Type: Calliope likes any tribute who is strong, loyal, and caring. Underdogs stand out to her a lot, because she wasn’t expected to win the first Games she was in.
Skills: She excels in the understanding of Muttations. She can identify them almost instantly, and locate their weaknesses with ease.
Weapon: A dagger, though she won't use it much. She's really not one for fighting and prefers to use knowledge and cunning to her advantage.
Token: a golden chain on which she wears a heart-shaped pendant adorned with seven emeralds, her wedding ring, and a small vial of glitter (just in case there's a shortage in the arena).
Other: Calliope is a bit AU for these Games... I wanted her to be younger, and not as shattered and depressed as she is in my Games. So for anyone who follows/has competed in my Games, this is basically Calliope before the events of FoF (meaning before Ashton) and before Adrik Jr. Oh, and Finders Keepers.
