Josh has been distant lately. Tyler just thought it was because he had seen Josh in a weak state, and Josh was just a little embarrassed. But he had come by the bowling alley with his friends, and just plain ignored Tyler. Saying it hurt was an understatement, but Josh really poured lemon juice on his paper cut when he walks in, hand in hand, with a girl.
Yes, the boy who Tyler had met from him offering a blowjob, is avoiding him because of a girl.
Unbelievable, Tyler thinks to himself as he plasters his signature fake, small smile onto his face. "Can I get you two a lane?" He asks in his 'I hate my job but I gotta be nice' voice.
"Yes, please!" The girl says, in a sickly sweet voice that Tyler just adores yet hates at the same time.
Tyler nods, avoiding Josh's agonizing stare, he looks up at the girl, "Names?"
"Nicole and..?" The girl-- Nicole, said, nudging him waiting for Josh to say his name.
Josh tries to meet Tyler's gaze, when Tyler finally looks at him, he's looking at Tyler expectingly, a look that screams 'You know my name, why the fuck are you asking for it?' And then it slowly turns into an 'Oh yeah, I have been pretending you don't exist for about two weeks' realization face.
"O-oh, yeah, it's uh Josh."
Tyler nods, and sets up their lane "Alrighty, you guys will be set up on lane three, if you need any help, just ask."
Nicole slowly moves her hand out of Josh's and comes closer to Tyler, she sets her hand on his barely visible bicep, and slowly slides her pointer finger down his arm. "Thank you so much for your help..?" She said, suggesting for Tyler to say his name.
"U-uh, Tyler." He said, flashing her a small smile while his eyes flicked to Josh, a silent prayer that Josh would help him.
Tyler slowly eases away from her touch, awkwardly heading back to the counter after mumbling a small "No problem."
Every time it is Nicole's turn, she gets a gutter ball, and then whines. It catches the attention of all the other patrons, it's honestly embarrassing.
"Tyler!" She whines, voice no longer sweet like honey, now it's sharp and demanding.
"Yes?" He replies, coming around the counter to where she is, curious what she wanted.
"Just-- ugh! Help me!"
Tyler internally rolls his eyes, "Why don't you get Josh to help you?"
To that, she just groans, "Tyler! Please.?" She asks, voice once again sweeter than honey, as she leans against Tyler.
He sighs, "Okay.." and he walks away, going to get something he knows will help her.
While Nicole is lecturing Josh on how he should be more like Tyler, said boy walks back to the pair's lane.
When Josh see's what's in Tyler's hands, he has to stifle his laughs.
Tyler comes back with a stick, to activate the bumpers, and two six-pound balls.
(A/n I don't think there is anything wrong with using bumpers, because many people do. Josh just thinks it's funny for Nicole to use them, okay? Okay.)Tyler hands the balls to Nicole and then pushes up the bumpers. "Okay, this is called bumper bowling. These slot things, are bumpers, they make the ball unable to roll off and into the gutter, they have a six-pound limit so Josh you'll have to use the six pound balls as well. Have fun!" He said with a huge smile as he pressed a smiley-face sticker on Nicole's collarbone.
Josh can't hold back laughs anymore, and soon Tyler joins in. Saying Nicole is mad is an understatement, she is livid, she is red and shaking.
"Tyler!" She shrieks, "Why the actual fuck are you treating me like a toddler!?"
He shrugs, "Protocol,"
Nicole stomps her foot like a toddler and drops the balls onto the ground, she points at Josh and says, "Don't call me." And storms out.
Josh walks over to Tyler and puts an arm around his shoulders, "C'mon, we're going to my place,"
