Katara followed behind an annoyed Zuko down the large halls of the Fire Palace. Katara was amazed at how tall and beautiful the palace was, it was very well decorated.
"Wow this place really is beautiful." Katara said trying to start conversation as she looked around in awe.
"Yeah it's great, shocker you think it looks amazing." Zuko snapped back as he kept walking.
Katara raised an eyebrow before she stopped and put her hands on her hips.
"Oh and what is that supposed to mean huh?" She snapped back to him raising an eyebrow.
"Just that you're a dumb water peasant and you're not used to real decor." Zuko said turning around to her.
"Oh I'm just a dumb water peasant? Well I'm not happy to be here either, plus being forced to marry a big, selfish, rude, and whiny jerk!" Katara spat back to him angrily.
Zuko's eyes became wide with anger as he stomped to her and grabbed her wrist tightly making her yelp as he moved her closer to him.
"I am your future husband which means you will respect me, and you will do as I say-" Zuko hissed angrily to her before Katara yanked her arm out of his grip and clenched her fists.
Zuko looked down to see her small fists balled as he laughed mockingly narrowing his eyes.
"Oh so you want to fight little water girl? Fine let's fight." He said to her as he grabbed her wrist tighter this time so she couldn't break free and he dragged her down the halls and out to stone arena/courtyard. He threw her to one side as he walked over to the other getting in a fighting stance.
"What's the matter? Thought you wanted to fight me!" Zuko yelled to her narrowing his orange eyes to her.
"You're making a mistake Prince Zuko." Katara said standing up and gritting her teeth, she looked to the side to see two thin pools of water on each side of her.
"Oh I don't think I am girl." He said hissing the last part out as he ran throwing flames of fire towards Katara's way. She moved out of his direction of fire easily but more flames of fire shot at her as she jumped around trying to dodge them she fell back into one of the ponds before sitting up to see Zuko in front of her with flames in his hands.
"You've run out of areas to hide from now, what are you gonna do now?" He said mockingly as a smirk came across his face.
Katara clenched her fists in the water as she grit her teeth staring back into his flaming eyes.
"You're going to regret every touching me." Katara whispered before lifting her arm up sending a steam of water up beside her before she waved her arms to Zuko knocking him halfway across the arena.
Zuko grunted as he sat up rubbing his back before looking to her with wide amazed eyes.
"You're a water bender? I thought you were from the Southern Water Tribe!" He asked in disbelief.
Katara tilted her head as she narrowed her ocean blue eyes piercing right through his.
"I am." She said low as she lifted both of her arms up causing water to rise on either side of her before moving them back to Zuko, as the water rushed to him and lifted him up Katara clenched her open hands and twisted them so the water would freeze, holding Zuko in the air.
Katara walked to him as he watched her in astonishment not believing what he was seeing. Katara grabbed his chin and narrowed her eyes into his.
"You will not hurt me, and you will not disrespect me, understood?" She hissed to him before backing up and lowering her arms cause the water to unfreeze, she lifted her arms gracefully in different directions to set the water back in the pools of either side before strutting away back into the palace.
Katara saw his uncle watching the whole thing but she just walked by him huffing as the servant walked her to her room.
Zuko looked down at himself, then to the water, then to his uncle who had a grin on his face.
"She's feisty, I feel you two will get along very well." Iroh said to him chuckling as Zuko blushed embarrassed before storming off inside the palace.
